Another bacon thread since my son's fugtard friends have shattered my reality
We live in a rural area and most weekends my son has friends that come over to hang out and spend Friday and Saturday night.
Anyway when I usually make breakfast in the morning I always cook the bacon crisp. I've received feedback from my son that his friends think I over do it. It's not burnt mind you, just crisp enough to where it can be broken into pieces. For me, chewing on pork fat is disgusting so I always order it cooked crisp if I'm eating breakfast in a restaurant. So my question is, with poll to follow, crisp or limp bacon? |

Bravo for not caving to those little brats. If they don't like your perfectly cooked bacon they can go buy some themselves.
You should honestly stop cooking them breakfast. And you should also mow the lawn while they're still sleeping.

Crisp FTW!
And if your son's free-loadin' friends want to complain about free bacon, tell 'em to bring their own pop-tarts.

crisp is better, but even if it's not it will still taste fantastic on anything.

I like mine in-between, I guess. Though my preference lies further towards the "limp" side of the dichotomy. I don't want m bacon to fall over on itself, but I want the fat to not be overcooked.
Both donenesses have their place. Obviously, texture is a huge difference. Crispy bacon is going to have a more concentrated pork meat taste. "Limp" bacon is going to better showcase the flavor of pork fat (which is pretty much the reason I eat bacon in the first place). |
