I have not always followed that, but here is a real life example of someone creating a lot of grief for himself and others by throwing an unnecessary verbal stone at someone.

Completely disagree that he brought this on himself. It's a real life example of the telephone game that I played in second grade (since we're going back to grade school). One thing got said, and by the time it gets around, what was originally said got twisted. It's not his fault people are making a big deal out of it. It's also not his fault that Haley would lie about it. How many games have you been to a game where you booed a player, coach, or ref? Wouldn't that also be considered "throwing an unnecessary verbal stone"?
