The teams that are really good, are the teams that have dynamic playmakers but find linemen in later rounds.
And yes a guy like DeMarcus Ware counts as a playmaker not a trench player. |

The teams that are elite have an elite QB. Can anyone honestly say the Chiefs have an elite QB? Didn't think so.

If Cassel was 23 or 24 and was picked from a college team I would like him a whole lot better. He's just another back up or retread QB making his start for the KC Chiefs like Bono, Huard. They say 'give him a break this is his first year being a QB in Kansas City'. How many people would be pissed if we drafted a 27 year old out of college? That's basically what we did is draft a 27 year old with only one season of experience out side of high school.
He had a good season with the Patriots on a Super Bowl team. He would not have had a shot at playing that season if it wernt for Bernard Pollard taking out Tom Brady. We most likely wouldn't have even heard about Cassel if it wern't for Bernard Pollard. Cassel should wright Bernard a thank you card for getting him his shot to start. Now then, the opening drive against Denver was very empressive. We waited all season for that. If he could do that more consistantly & move the chains on 3rd down I can learn to like him. It's going to take alot for me to trust in him however, next year he is going to be 28 and should be in his prime NO EXCUSES!! Next year he should not be treated like a rookie, he should be treated as the leader of the team, it should fall on his shoulders. |

No; a QB is either elite or not. A great offensive line simply gives more time/opportunity for the QB to display his talent, but the offensive line does not "make a QB go from great to elite." Look at Elway, an elite QB who didn't always have the best protection.

That is the point. Winning the super bowl. We've sucked so long that HOW we do that isn't exactly a luxury we can argue over...

No, Elway won SuperBowls when the Broncos provided him with a superstar running back (Davis) which feeds back into Mecca's theory about playmakers. Honestly, look at this year's playoff teams and tell me what trends you see. Manning, Favre, Brady. Fairly consistently, the best QBs in the game go to the playoffs. Cassel has a chance to Kerry Collins his way to the SuperBowl once (I really doubt it, but it is possible), but Cassel is not an elite QB to head a dynasty.
