Thank goodness for the cap.
In the old NFL the Cowboys could just keep throwing money at players ala the Yankees. |

Also, it might not hurt for us to think about extending Houston next year. I have no idea how escalators and incentives work. I imagine that would have to be factored in too, as well as saving space for rookie contracts. |

Except FAs still want to play for Dallas. Choke land has been such a punch line that no FA worth his salt would play for the faiders.

Your logic is players will take less money to play elsewhere. Wouldn't you? Dallas will be kicking the can down the road and will eventually have to shave something soon enough. It's funny how Chiefs fans are completely unaware that Oakland is no longer being run by Al Davis. |

We saw a 3.3 million dollar increase last year. Boss Chiefs assumptions presume an increase equal to last year, which is far from unreasonable - even without factoring in increased TV revenue.

Back on topic: will the Chiefs be in a similar situation as Dallas with all the pro bowl players on the roster performing? If Alex Smith has the W's is he worth top $$? |

Oakland will have like 65 mill under the cap and be FORCED to spend like 55 of it. So will they lock a bunch of mediocre players up to huge contracts? How do you maximize your talent gain in this scenario?
