Fescoe references a website that doesn't like Alex Smith

Quote:

Coming up tomorrow, we discuss what else...THE CHIEFS. How has Andy Reid changed the culture, one website does not like Alex Smith and why the hate from the national media may be a good thing. Plus we hear from a lot of coaches on the Chiefs staff, we hear from Bill Self and talk with Jayice Pearson at 9 and Lazlo at 930. Plus if you could have a non super hero super power what would it be? Fescoe in the Morning 6-10 AM on 610 Sports Radio
Am I missing something obvious, or is CP gonna get some love/hate on 610 in the morning?

I expected him to look better than he has; but I also expected the line to be a strong point heading into the season.
Unfortunately, Alex Smith is one of those guys that needs everything to be in place for him to have serious success: Coaching, offensive line, running game, receivers, TE. He's smart with the football and he's a smart QB, but he's not going to put up huge numbers without those things in place.

He's not Aaron Rodgers or Tom Brady or Peyton Manning. But he is a smart, efficient QB that would definitely benefit from better players around him.

Nothings going to kill my Chiefs buzz, they've almost already exceeded my expectations for the year.

We get 4-5 good players for the offense next year and a legit Super Bowl run is in the cards, thats a pretty quick turnaround for a team in the absolute toilet less than a year ago... not bad, even for a game manager.

They're on a legit Super Bowl run, right now.

There isn't one team that's playing more consistent football than the Chiefs.

The Pats have been up and down, along with the Saints, Seahawks, Packers, Jets, Bengals and Panthers (although the Panthers are on a 4 game win streak).

The Broncos haven't faced a defense other than the Colts, capable of shutting them down and are giving up 28 points a game.

The time is now.

Pretty good sum up of Alex.

Alex is what he is. He's not elite I doubt he ever will be. But he isn't bad. You can win with him. That has been proven. You can win in the playoffs with him. That has been proven even against an elite QB. The Chiefs are much better off with him at QB then anything they had last year. Those who complain about him are going to complain about him no matter what he does. No one is going to change their minds. They think they know better then Dorsey and Reid. It's sad really

If the offense can get some cohesion going, i'm on board, its just so hit and miss right now that its hard for me to see it this year.

But yeah it'd be a beautiful thing, if the defense has yet to hit its ceiling and the O can just find a little consistency...

The issue with some on CP (BCD, SDH, Clay, to name a few), is this, I'm sure they are happy the Chiefs are 9-0, if indeed they are fans. However, while some, like me, Dane, and probably 90% of the folks here on CP, people the aforementioned would call "true fans" recognize that the Chiefs have some serious concerns on the offensive side of the ball, we realize that Alex Smith's limitations are just one of them. The Alex Smith haters are overblowing his shortcomings in order to try to save face when they pushed the panic button after the Chiefs signed him. They are trying to save face for their strong stance that he sucks and is no better that Cassel.

Look, the offense has some serious protection issues on the O line. Does AS miss some guys? Yes. Does he check down alot? Yes. Guess what? Half the time he's running for his life, and often, our receivers don't get any separation. Put those two together, and you get either a check down, a poor throw, or a sack. AS didn't drop two probable TD's last week that were well thrown. The O line has been terrible, the receivers don't get open, and when they do, they often drop the ball. But AS is the reason the offense sucks?

Just once, us "true fans" would like one of you ****tards to admit that AS, game manager as he may be, has actually played a role in the team being 9-0. Thats all. If you aren't able to do that, then you don't know football.

I don't think anyone would disagree with you about Alex Smith being an upgrade over Cassel, way to go out on a limb.

Oh boy, here we go again, thou shalt not question management dammit! Hey they are 9 and 0 and it is going to work this time, they know best!
