Same as I feel it shouldn't be used to prop up Alex smith, I don't think wins should be used to justify qb play.
Wins, SB wins too, are team oriented. |

He's actually the only QB who has started 9 games who Alex Smith is ahead of as a passer. Only took him an extra 100 pass attempts to BARELY do it.

This year, he has a 7.5 base...got a 1mill roster bonus and has another 3 million in incentives.
Next year He has another 7.5 base and another 3 million in incentives |

Those GM's committed too much money to their non-Elite QB's and both teams are paying the price because their respective rosters are depleted. The Ravens traded their best receiver, who was only slated to earn $6 million this year, and their passing and running game has suffered. |

Actually Matt Ryan's cap hit this year, if I'm reading this right, is only 9 mil.

So what I'm getting here overall, is that if Alex Smith somehow ends up in a Chiefs SB, and we win it all, he should STILL not get paid elite money, nor should he be extended as the de-facto starter for 5 years.
I'm groovy with that.
