Richard Sherman might be the biggest douche in the NFL

What a childish douche.

Imagine Richard Sherman's reaction if his defense collapsed the way the Chiefs defense did en route to blowing a 28 point lead.

Imagine Ray Lewis' reaction.

Imagine Mike Singletary's reaction.

I can guarantee it wouldn't be a soft "Guess we let up" response.

Sherman had hoped to say those words seven years ago, on the day he graduated from Dominguez High, but only the valedictorian got to speak. Instead, he sat silently in a folding chair on the football field—his definition of corporal punishment—because obviously he did not finish first in his class. No, he actually finished second, his 4.2 GPA falling short by less than a tenth of a point.
Sherman clearly wasn't Stanford worthy.

No it wasn't.

Actually, Jamaal Charles is probably the closest thing the Chiefs have to Richard Sherman.

Both are superb athletes that have the ability to translate that athletic ability over to the football field. Both were also picked much later than they should have been in the draft.

The difference is is that Sherman is a world class douchey megalomaniac to go along with being a world class football player.

The problem that some of you are having with this is that you think that Sherman's antics are about "fire and competitiveness and in the moment passion."

They aren't.

They are about his ego, which has nothing to do with his football skills.

Go read that article he wrote. It was written after the fact, when he had time to genuflect on his actions and it's still nothing more than a gigantic pile of egocentric, self-aggrandizing garbage.

The guy is a massive troll and he's got many of you drinking from the palm of his hand.

That you want him to "genuflect" says an awful lot.

Jamaal Charles was injured, but I guarangoddamntee you if the Chiefs were placed in the same position giving up TD after TD to the shitbag Colts after they were up 28, he wouldn't be saying shit.

Branden ****ing Albert's the only guy who stood on the sidelines and barked shit at the other players. And it was his offensive line. Not the defense, not the receivers.

Alex Smith was quiet and humble and respectful.

Dwayne Bowe was quiet and humble and respectful.

Nobody wanted that collapse to happen, but nobody had the testicles to prevent it from happening.

Dang. I think you have a good point there:

Well said, sir.
I never said he didn't earn his degree. He earned it, along with his scholarship to Stanford. Not only was he a stud high school football player, he was an excellent student, graduating second in his class.

He's obviously very driven and passionate.

I think those are incredibly good virtues.

As keg so adroitly pointed out, it's his narcissism that I find distasteful.

It is a factor. Just in the 20 minutes following the interview, I saw these comments on random threads discussing the event:

"Straight nig"

"This is why the N-word exists"

"Typical"/
Which, sadly, showcases the absolute ignorance of some people.

This has nothing to do with race whatsoever.

The guy is just an obnoxious douche.

If Kaepernick had thrown it to the back pylon where Sherman couldn't get it...

And if Kaepernick had three wheels he'd be a tricycle

This is PERFECT coverage. Not only is it perfect coverage, but Sherman makes a better play on the ball than Crabtree. It doesn't matter if the ball was thrown to the pylon, Crabtree would have had no play on it.

I think you guys need to watch the play again. Crabtree clearly pushed off big time as Sherman was trying to move into position. It's only because Sherman has great body control and a 6'3" frame that he was able to recover from the push off and make that play.

Neither Brandon Flowers, Sean Smith or Marcus Cooper likely make that play.
