No, our win was at home. We did go there the following year for their homecoming game and beat them by 35 again though.

What's wrong with the Cotton bowl? Hell it was actually national televised over a BCS game on the same day. Better announcers and venue to boot.

And the Cotton Bowl is in the new playoff rotation as well.....and it sure has been packed by Mizzou fans...they must not have gotten the memo about traveling.

You were still the big dog on the block back then. Still the target, probably more so than Texas and still nearly equal with Oklahoma.

Good call on firing Solich/bringing in Bill Callahan, in hindsight, eh?

Could they go from a .2 rating to -.2 now?

No idea how anyone finds that show listenable. I would rather listen to Bob Fescoe than him.

Of course it is, and even their Alumni Magazine said so. It's really not even a debate outside a few morons on this thread.

Wrong. It's an SI writer's opinion, and it's published in your own damn Alumni Mag. Even your head coach (who was, you know, part of the other wins you mentioned) is quoted as saying nothing will ever compare to it.

Let's trust the intelligent folks on this topic, and have you just stay out of it.

You mean when he's talking about the atmosphere, and is quoted as talking about the game?

“The greatest feeling was driving up [to Arrowhead Stadium],” Missouri Coach Gary Pinkel was quoted as saying in the book. “It was unbelievable. Un-be-lievable. Fans were running up and hitting the buses. There were roars and cheers. You went by the Kansas people, and it was just the opposite. The environment was as good as it will ever get.

The book is about the rivalry and climaxes with that game. Obviously, that writer finds it compelling (and is probably trying to sell his book). It IS compelling.

The sub-hed doesn't even match the lede of the article.

No one would argue it was an important win, and a great win. But in terms of greatest, it falls a little short of a few other things that have happened in the program's history.

I've heard Gary Pinkel speak about this in person. I've heard hm talk about the importance of the Nebraska win and the Oklahoma win in terms of moving the program forward. He looks at those two games as major, major turning points for the program. The 2007 Border War game is important, too. But not as important.

Yay, more NYC crap. It's not like all of news media fellates NYC on a daily basis as it is. I understand the need for content, but there are already 20 places I can hear about "the Yankees starting rotation".

FS1 did well to get some of the premier PAC-12 content, and one of their main long term goals should be to grow that audience. There's enough of a population on the west coast and in the Rockies to rival Big Ten and SEC ratings.
