Food everyone else loves, but you think is overrated

Just thinking about foods that everyone else seems to think is the greatest thing ever, and you just don't get...

Me: Nutella. I'd never tried it until today when someone at the grocery store had samples of those little snack packs. So I tried it. It's not bad, but it's certainly overrated.

So I'm trying to think of other things like this. What do you have for me?

You know what's a lot more interesting and satisfying than steak? Any kind of barbecue.

There is an outstanding Indian food place in the town just over from me. They specialize in "home cooked" style meals. There are also two great fancier places in the same town. There is a substantial Indian population in various California college towns.

Interesting, maybe. Satisfying, no way no how.

If I had to use one word for steak, it'd be satisfying. The char, the rare interior, the rendered fat.

Maybe you just have different taste buds for umami.

I love all sorts of food, Indian, Greek, Vietnamese, Thai, Mexican, Chinese. But I'll always return to steak, a baked potato, grilled asparagus and a nice salad.

All I know is I can spot a hotel or motel run by Paki's or Indians. When I walk in the lobby and I smell curry I turn around and walk right out. Dirty freaking places we call them Paki Pads.

I want to agree with this, but not sure if I can completely. My problem is not the taste. My problem is that they're annoying to eat, and I've never really known how to dip them.

Do you dip them vertically and get most of the ranch on the top where the bone and cartilage is? If so, what's the point. It's frustrated me to the point that I rarely order bone-in wings.
