Sorry, but the Daily Mail article is immensely out of touch.
Courtney Cox had to get a real estate license? Are you shitting me? Every single one of those actors could spend the rest of their lives spending money and they wouldn't ever get to the dollars they made TODAY. Not one of them "needs" work. They do it because they love it. If you're comparing the work they're doing now to Friends, it's just silly. It's like saying Jerry Seinfeld hasn't really been able to "find work" since his show went off the air. I mean, the Marriage Ref was cancelled, right? And now he has to do a web series? On paper it looks bad. You have to realize how ****ing rare it is for A) any show to get a full season order; B) any show to go multiple seasons; B) a multiple season show being a bonafide hit. After all of that... all of those hurdles... at the VERY TOP of the mountain... There's Friends. Of course they will never, ever, ever, ever, ever, EVER come close to that kind of success. You're the ****ing Beatles, man. You don't get two of those. Just ask Paul McCartney and Wings. That doesn't mean that cast isn't working constantly. Schwimmer might not be playing the big movie roles, but that doesn't mean he couldn't be on TV every single week that he chose to. Seriously. He could be doing independent movies all year if he wanted. Believe that. I could walk into a anyone's office asking for $4 million to shoot my indie comedy, and as long as any cast member from Friends was there with me, I have investors. But they don't want to do $4 million indie movies. Well... Kudrow might... of course she's ****ing smart as all hell. (See: Biology major at Vassar). The point is, just because someone doesn't have a second boffo series doesn't mean they can't get work. And ALL of their quotes are high enough that any work is lucrative work. |
