I never once said, argued or really even commented on whether or not I thought Alex Smith played well.

I was only dispelling the myth that he was a muffed punt away from going to the Super Bowl.

I post on a Patriots forum that has a political forum and, while there is definitely a homer/cynic divide, there's also a large group in the middle.

This place has never gotten past the Sanchez/Cassel draft day. That schism spiraled out of control and poisoned the well.

I'm just glad that the football craziness hasn't killed the OT threads yet.

Saying that the Patriots are in the running to go to the Super Bowl every year is not a fallacy. When your franchise is year to year on the ability to get to the playoffs, people tend to get stir crazy.

You just brought up the Sanchez/Cassel schism that divided this place. It goes back way further than that. And that's because when your team ****ing sucks for so long, you are a little more invested in the right solution to make them not suck. The QB thing is a huge one. If we had drafted and failed a couple times, the Sanchez thing wouldn't be such a big deal. Or even better, if we had drafted and succeeded.

But we have the current record for most playoff losses. We tried doing it with offense. We tried doing it with defense. One or two of those teams were kinda balanced. A couple of them didn't even deserve to be in the playoffs at all.

I don't know what the **** you Patriots fans argue about, but it sure as hell isn't about the shit we have to argue about. Don't even try to compare situations. They're not the ****ing same.
