Would you trade Chase Daniel?

Imagine that some team like the Titans came calling and wanted Daniel in exchange for a DB. Not a superstar DB but someone who is a noticeable upgrade to our roster.

Would you pull the trigger?

The only 2 reasons I can see wanting to keep him is #1 you honestly think we can win a SB with him or #2 you are ok with winning "enough" games but not having a true shot a the title.
I am on the fence with this one. If Smith were to lose a couple of weeks, and the Chiefs were 7-5.. I can see Daniel maaaaaaayyybbee pulling out a tough win or two during that time.. whereas, I don't see Bray or Murray doing it.. not yet. The Chiefs may be in a position during the season where not having Daniel could be a significant risk. That extra win could be what swings the playoff door open later.

I would love for Bray or Murray to prove themselves enough to make the trade happen.. and if it did happen anyway, probably not a big problem.. but it could be an issue.

Nope. He has very limited trade value, not zero. There (sadly) are teams he could start for and for them he'd be a cheap stopgap option.

The only negative for us is the $2 million cap hit we would take to trade him.

You would think he would be a good qb for the texans.

Heard some BS on 610 sports, talking about how he is a great quarterback mind, and that he and Smith bounce ideas off each other's heads. If that is the value they see in him, make him a coach. As a player, you can see, he has trouble seeing over his line, he relies on lanes between them, and gives up looking downfield and looks to run the ball.

I look at the backup QB different. Daniel is not the one we are grooming for the future, that would be Bray or Murray.
Normally your backup QB gives you the best chance to win just a couple games say 2 out of 4 with your backup QB while your starter gets healthy again. You should not be expecting your backup to be able to carry your team to winning playoff games or more or else he should not have been the backup.

I'll trust Reid's opinion on him over anyone's here.

If Bray and Murray can't take his job, what does that say about those guys?
