Watch the video. Dude's just shopping for pet food, swinging a BB gun, and minding his own business. Then, BAM.

Apparently the Dayton PD trains their officers to murder people.

Surveillance video from Crawford's shooting—previously unavailable to the public—shows Crawford walking around the store while talking on the phone, with the BB gun at his side or on his shoulder. The disturbing video then shows an officer rushing toward Crawford with his gun drawn before shooting him.

Though the special grand jury reportedly considered charging the officers with murder, reckless homicide, or negligent homicide, WHIO reports the jury ultimately decided not to indict the officers involved in the shooting, finding their actions were justified.

Vince Pope, attorney for the officers involved in the shooting, released a statement following the decision:

"I believe the grand jury's decision, it's absolutely the right decision, that the officers acted well within their training."

Derrick Foward, president of the Dayton Unit NAACP, also released a statement:

"The Special Grand Jury in Greene County made the wrong decision. It's a sad day in the history of Dayton."

Foward added the NAACP will call for a complete investigation by the U.S. Department of Justice.

In the world that we live in, where our children have to go through armed intruder drills at school because of school shootings and where there's a serious threat of terrorism, why would someone think this was a good idea?

If I am in a room with someone I do not know and they're wearing a loaded weapon on their hip, I could give 9/10 of a **** if they're licensed or not.

FTR, I don't drive a prius but I do enjoy a good cake.

Open carry is legal here. Practically anyone who is not in an insane ward can get a concelaed carry permit. Guns in bars, stores, parks everywhere. Add on the stand your ground law......... its really a more dangerous place to live, not safer.

It is here as long as it's not a into a federal institution or a place where liquor is served. With that being said, it's still not a good idea. If I pack it's concealed. About the only time I have something 100% of the time is when I'm on the road, or up in the mountains in grizzly country.

Don't move to Florida them. I bet 1/2 the people you see gathered at any spot are packing openly or concealed.

How long do you think it would take them to go from a "expressly non-active position" to the ability to fire their weapon? 1 second? 1/2 a second? 3 seconds?

Growing up I used to think "If black people weren't committing crimes, they wouldn't have anything to fear from police." Even during the Rodney King trial I thought that. But over the years, as I've seen more and more of these incidents, I have realized that I was completely wrong.

Whites didn't see white people getting treated this way, so they didn't believe it was happening to blacks. Was that racist? Maybe. But it's human nature to think that way. If someone treats you with respect you give them the benefit of the doubt. It's perfectly natural.

It isn't "just" blacks getting their rights trampled on these days. It's everyone. And the scary part is that cops are still getting away with it. Caught on camera committing murder and they still have defenders and excuse makers. People's capacity for naivete is astounding. How many videos like this do you need to see before you say "We have a serious problem here."?

Those old geezers are packed more than middle aged hunters. They all seem to have a gun and they can't even walk or drive a car correctly. I'm surprised there is not a "misunderstanding" by the old geezers every day and someone getting shot. Probably a by stander because they have no chance to hit what they are aiming at.
