This team was close. Should have beaten the teams your supposed to beat. Mainly the Titans and Raiders. The offense has no playmakers outside of Charles. The line gives Smith about .5 seconds to throw most snaps. And Smith doesn't challenge a defense down the field.
I think the defense this year has been better than last year. If we had this defense last year, we would have beaten Indy. If we had the oline and offense of last year we would be in the playoffs this year.

I don't really understand the outrage anyway. Seems most KC fans say the team is consistently cursed and will never do anything.. okay.. then why continue to get upset when the team falls short? the very expectation you set from the beginning?
It's like eating a 50 cent burger at the local slop-n-glop... You know it's going to suck.. but eat it anyway.. and yep.. it sucks. GODDAMMIT!!!!! People had no problem all year in bashing the OL decisions and remaining talent... no problem begging for early WRs in the draft.. no problem wailing about how a good vet WR stiffed us in FA to go to Denver.... no problem saying that Andy was both brilliant and an idiot all at once... Yet when a QB that no one claimed to be top-shelf can't excel with all of this? Oh, **** him... he's to blame! he needs to GTFO!!!!

Chiefs are on pace to score about 5 less TDs than last year. The defense about 7 TDs less TDs given up than last year.
If we could have scored at last years pace, We most likely would have won at least one, maybe two more games. Right in the playoff race. A Smith has not progressed. He's regressed. We need him to throw between 25-30 Tds.

Primarily John Dorsey.
The Chiefs had one of the worst groups of WR's in the NFL LAST season and did nothing in the offseason to address this obvious weakness. Also they did nothing to address gaping holes on the offensive line. If Andy Reid convinced Dorsey he could win with talent the Chiefs had at WR/offensive line to start the season then I would give equal blame to Reid as well. If the decision all along was to invest in Alex Smith as the long term starting QB, then recognize his limitations and recognize the talent that must be built around him on offense for him to succeed. |

It begins and ends with John Dorsey.
Andy and Alex deserve their fair share of blame as well for being gutless pussies. Do you think when Alex's wife tries to get him to **** her butt he checks down to the hand job? |

Andy Reid. Dorsey didn't help him but Alex was Andy's guy.
-Andy is the reason we have Alex. -Andy is the reason we didn't have 2 2nd rd picks. -Andy is the reason this offense sucks bc he ignores key players and his hand picked QB sucks. Even with this bad OL we should have made the playoffs. Dorsey was dealt a bad hand in his first draft. It's a terrible draft especially up top. Gaines, DAT, Kelce and Davis at least look like good draft picks. How much do those 2nd rd picks help the OL if he could pick them? I think Dorsey has done a decent job. It's Andy that's the problem

Why anyone would blame the Clark is beyond me. He did exactly what an owner should do. Twice he hired what was considered the top GM candidate, he hired what was considered a top HC candidate, and then hired a HC that most thought was pretty good. He spent the money to get those people to run the team.
Dorsey gets a C for whiffing (or so it appears) on Fisher and a questionable trade for Smith. But he did find some players people overlooked and Ford just may develop into something. Our draft class this year may pan out. You can't bring in All-Pro FAs to every position and have an All-Pro backup in case of injuries. Reid flat out puzzles me. One game is brilliant and the next is dreck. Injuries on the D side of the ball have killed us. DeVito was pretty solid and losing him and DJ in the first game have allowed teams to gash us with the run. Berry had a nagging injury before he left for the season. Sutton has worked wonders with what he has to work with. Face it, our WRs don't scare anyone. Bowe is overpaid and Jenkins, Avery, Hammond, and Hemingway are, at best, #3/4 receivers that drop the ball way too often. I hate to say this but our hopes rest with Avant and Wilson. Say what you want about Smith, but the major problem with this team is the O-line. I don't care who's behind center or if you have a triplet of All-Pros at WR, you can't have your QB running for his life every time he drops back to pass. Really, 45 sacks? Hudson is the only reliable lineman we have. I don't know what kind of doghouse Stephenson is in, but he has to be better than Harris. Our OGs are just terrible. |

Andy Reid - Unprepared team for Titans and Raiders
John Dorsey - Failure to draft or sign a legit #1 WR Injuries - Loss of two pro-bowl team leaders

Why are people criticizing Dorsey for not bringing in a no.1 WR? He was that close to signing the top FA WR in Sanders. At the end of the day, he thought he'd rather give the chance to our youngsters than signing a retread WR just for the sake of it. As for the draft, he picked in the 1st round what he thought was the BPA and that's exactly what you must do and who knows if Ford will be a better player than Benjamin. And in the 3rd round, he picked a CB (Gaines) who has probably been better than any WR drafted after him. Are you going to blame Dorsey for that?

Too often we see Alex Smith fail to pick up a blitz and not find the hot read. Too often we see him wait for receivers to get open instead of throwing his receivers open. Smith has to get rid of the ball quicker, and I'm not just talking about checkdowns. |
