Pats Cheating Comfirmed

According to the report, the league sources say the NFL determined 11 of the 12 footballs used by the Patriots were under-inflated by two pounds per square inch each. Per NFL rules, footballs are required to be inflated between 12.5 and 13.5 PSI and weigh between 14 and 15 ounces.

It doesnt seem anything has been proven to this point.

And of course an equipment guy is going to take the fall.

Brady is likely the only other person who would have known and almost nobody would care if it's proven. This is much to do about nothing.

Should I post a bunch of times when innocent people were convicted and sent to jail?

I get it, it's a witch hunt for some of you. Enjoy it while it lasts. It's more fun than seeing the Chargers get drilled by teh Patriots, AGAIN....

What is Rivers against the Patriots? I took a couple minutes to look it up. 1-6, with two playoffs losses, and the sole win comign when Brady was hurt in 2008 (making him 0-6 versus Brady). Ouch. I feel your pain. I remember hating some teams back when the Patriots were ok but not great too.

Soooo, is there such a thing as an "official NFL pressure gauge"?

Say, NE uses a 0-50# gauge to test ball pressure, then a +/- 2# could be well within the gauge tolerance.

just because they might get away with it doesn't mean it's no big deal

don't care if a batter corks his bat?
don't care if pitcher doctors a ball?
don't care if Nascar pit crew modifies spoiler(or something )?

If you really don't care if people cheat then why are you in this thread?

why bother having any rules at all.

Right, because the Patriots would have had NO USE for a Jordy Nelson (picked 36th), Brandon Flowers (35th), Matt Forte (44), DeSean Jackson (49) or whoever that year. Or in the 2011 Super Bowl. Or this year.

None at all.

Idiot.

what are you talking about?

Refs tested the balls presumably with the same gauge before game and at halftime. Still doesn't explain the different between colt's football and Pats.

FOX's Jay Glazer reports the NFL has identified a Patriots locker room attendant as a "strong person of interest" in the ball-deflation scandal.

The league finally has its Ollie North. Per Glazer, the attendant "allegedly took balls from the officials' locker room to another area on way to the field." There is reportedly video of the incident. Glazer says the league is "still gauging if any wrong doing occurred." It's been obvious from Day 1 the Pats were going to set up some sort of underling as the fall guy, the only question is if he'll sing. The entire "scandal" is long past played out. It would be a shame were it to dominate all pre-SB chatter.

Doesn't matter who did it.

They did it on BBs watch with knowledge of the situation from the teams quarterback.

They cheated.

Again.

They WILL get a big penalty from this.

Belichick referenced that gauges can differ. No discussion by NFL on that point.

Here's the reality -- NOBODY cared or thought mucha bout any of this until last week. Suddenly, it's THE thing.

The NFL's **process** unquestionably sucked. If you wanted to be sure that balls were at 12.5 PSI for the entire game, then you should have a much better process, including one that takes atmospheric issues into account.

The fact that Roger Goodell hasn't said a damn word about this tells you everything you need to know.

Goodell won't turn on his biggest supporter among the owners.

Shame.

If you have too much pinetar on your bat you are called out, they don't talk about for a month. Unless you are Brett.

Not saying they shouldn't or won't get fined and or lose a low round pick. It's just not worth 2 weeks of discussion as it is not nor should it effect the SB.

We're waaaay short on facts.
I've been pretty objective on this for the most part. I'd like your take on Shermans comments on this all being a conflict of interest. I agree with him wholeheartedly, and frankly my ax to grind is with Goodell far more than the Pats at this point. That's subject to change, but I'll need some hard evidence before I'm willing to convict anyone. What's your take on Goodell and the "mini commish's" relationship?

Pats better get control of Browner telling everyone to target Thomas and Sherman body parts. Break Shermans arm? This is what he says with all the mess going on.

What an idiot. The refs are going to be all over them all game.
