Probably both.

Regardless of all these numbers, the big killer is the TV deal. The Royals are locked in a $20M/year TV contract through 2019, meanwhile the local TV money has taken off. For instance, the Diamondbacks got a $1.5 billion-plus dollar TV contract this offseason. That'll probably give them about 80M a year. Even winning a World Series isn't going to make up that difference. Other teams are going to have a 40-50M head start before selling a ticket. So yeah Glass has made a ton of money, but so has everyone else.
