*** Official 2015 Royals Repository ***

In this thread: All things related to the AL Champions.

Duncan's Official Team Record prediction: 90 wins
Duncan's Official Team MVP prediction: Eric Hosmer

I can't wait for this season to start. The AL Central should be a very entertaining race. I'll give brief thoughts on each team the Royals must contend with to make it back to the postseason - strengths and weaknesses.

Detroit Tigers:
Strength: The offense is still full of powerful hitters, and Miguel Cabrera may be healthier.
Weakness: Rotation is questionable after Price and Sanchez, bullpen continues to be horrible.

Cleveland Indians:
Strength: Great manager and a deep, versatile lineup.
Weakness: The rotation is a question mark past Corey Kluber, and even he has a few questions about him.

Chicago White Sox:
Strength: 1-2-3 combo of Sale, Quintana and Samardzija is pretty formidable. Offense is anchored by Jose Abreu, too.
Weakness: Defense still has major questions, and this team has 20 games to improve by if it really wants to make the playoffs.

The Royals will be a division winner IF ...
1) Ventura and Duffy combine for 375+ innings of high-quality work
2) Eric Hosmer delivers on his potential with a FULL season of success rather than bursts
3) The deeper bullpen lessens the critical load on Herrera, Davis and Holland
4) Lorenzo Cain stays healthy
5) Either Alex Rios or Kendrys Morales bounces back to 2013 form

Let's get this started!

They could probably do that if it was an AL East opponent, but Chicago is not scheduled to come back to Baltimore, so it is really hard to do that. They happen to have a common off day available to squeeze in a DH that Chicago is being forced to fly back in for, but the CBA does not allow you to play 3 games in one day, and they aren't going to make Chicago come back twice.

If someone took so much as $5 out of your work desk, you'd be enraged. Hypocrite.

As for Baltimore itself, the looters absolutely owe zero apologies for vandalizing their city. I do it myself whenever I get mad at something that happened to someone I don't even know. I burn shit

I doubt the looters typically go to a lot of Orioles games anyway.

You are a moron. And no, I would not be enraged if someone took five bucks from my work desk.

The benefit of having a downtown stadium.

Closer to 5 games, because they decided to make it a single-admission doubleheader.

I'm glad the powers that be in KC ignored all that downtown stadium nonsense. "A stadium would revitalize downtown!" OK, well first of all thats not guaranteed, but second, so? Why should I care? It would not be worth the hassle and inconvenience of fighting traffic, parking, and mostly losing the ability to tailgate.

The Orioles losing some revenue is merely a slight inconvenience compared to the folks who have lost their livelihoods to the riots. Let's not shed crocodile tears for the billionaire losing a small portion of his annual revenue of one business.

I feel like most of the drum beating for the downtown stadium came from the JoCo crowd. The current location isn't centrally located so those further west have a longer trip to the ballpark. I think this because I was against the downtown stadium for the same reason. It would have made my trip to the ball park quite a bit longer. Also, as mentioned, traffic, parking, and losing the tailgate would have been a major bummer.

Well what you lose in the ability to tailgate you cain in public transportation options, nearby bars and restaurants.

Imagine if they started DUI checkpoints coming out of Chiefs or Royals games. I bet somewhere around 30%-50% would fail.

My friends wanted to take Uber to the game, from Midtown, so we wouldn't have to worry about driving drunk. Getting there was fine but we had no idea what getting back was like. That's ridiculous that there isn't even a Royals shuttle like there is for the Chiefs (or at least it wasn't running for the last DET series last year).

Not worth losing the tailgating and convenient parking. I don't live in KC, and I eat in the stadium. If you are not a degenerate drinker who loads up pre-game and really chugs away during the game, you should be fine since they cut you off in the 7th, it takes a while to get out of the lot, and it isn't exactly hard liquor.

Baltimore will break a record tomorrow. The all-time record for lowest paid attendance was 6, in 1882
