Goddammit!!!
New motherboard, new chip, same ol' story. It's currently plugged in with one stick of memory, the CPU and CPU fan, video into onboard HDMI. |

As long as both power connectors are plugged into the board, it's safe to say that it's the power supply. Silly question but did you turn the PS on?

I was thinking the same, but his comment about the cursor flashing on the monitor led me to believe that he had turned it on.

Could be a faulty monitor I guess. Do you have anything else connected to HDMI that you can plug into it?

Just verified the monitor with my laptop, all's good there.
Here was my setup with the new mobo and PSU. I took the case totally out of the equation, left PSU out, put mobo on cardboard on my table; using onboard power buttons to turn on and off. Only thing attached is memory and HDMI video. PSU cables (both the long one and the 8-pin one) connected, fully seated. Memory, fully seated. Video is onboard. I have a separate SATA power port available if I'm running a heavy GPU, I tried that on and off. Memory is fully seated, tried one stick, two sticks, no sticks. I found the clear CMOS jumper, set to open, like it should be according to the manual. LED code is "A9," which means "BIOS Setup is Started." But just a flashing cursor. |

This is weird. I'm up and running, though I'm having trouble getting my two 1TB drives connected.
Turned out something is wrong with the ONBOARD video. The LED on the motherboard was giving codes t hat seemed to indicate everything was working A-OK, so my brother and I started talking about video. On a whim, I put the video card back in the machine and swapped from HDMI on board to HDMI on the graphics card... boom everything worked. So I'm installing Windows updates, but so far so good. I'm just having trouble getting the two storage HDDs recognized. |

Something was screwy with those two drives; I couldn't see them in the BIOS, either. I got replacements from Amazon and they both worked flawlessly on the first try. Now looking for a decent sync program. I didn't end up setting them up as a RAID1. |

I ordered both at the same time - good drives, too; WD Blacks - so I'm guessing something was wrong with that batch. But yeah, totally up and running. Going through Gigabyte's CS to see if ID what's wrong with the on board video, but I don't much care, honestly. I wanted to run on a separate GPU anyway. |

I don't care for their new BIOS because it's difficult to find certain options so I always use Classic view. I have to disable C States (which is a power saving feature that will cause jitter and other audio issues) and EIST. Both were impossible to find without the Classic view. |
