2015 Clinched Central Division title and Home Field advantage in the playoffs. First team in MLB to win 100 games since 2011.

  • Made the postseason 11 times in the last 15 seasons.
  • Only 1 losing season since 2000.
  • Reached the World Series 4 times since 2004 and won as many championships (two) the past eight seasons as it did from 1965 to 2005.
  • Made the NLCS 9 times including the last 4 years 2011-2014
  • Three million attendance? Take it to the bank.
  • 65 post season wins since 2004. 22+ wins more than any other team.

You cant bring Jay unless you cut Pham. Cutting your hottest hitter is something not even Matheny would be dumb enough to do. We nerf offense more thsn a pinch runner.

Doesnt matter if Pham cools down before the playoffs. We have seen time and time again what a single hot hitter with power can do in a playoff series.

I just don't see how Matheny leaves the bible stud regulars off the roster. But if you put Choate, Jay and Kozma who comes off?

I'm using Lyons as a LOOGY. Chaote will burn us again. It's inevitable.

Kozma comes along, that key pinch hit to keep a rally going will never materialize.

But the big mistake in putting Jay on the roster is the only way to do that is leave Pham off.

You just don't need 8 relievers with the way the playoffs are structured. And we all know Choate is making the roster.

I would leave off Cishek and Broxton for Villanueva and Bourjos. (Assuming Waino can go)? And like it or not, it will be Choate instead of Lyons.

Shit, I think in a short series like the playoffs, Bourjos has more value than Adams.

I'd really like to think Kozma is left of after barely playing this month and just amazingly awful numbers. I'd also like to think that Pham playing a lot recently and being hot make that choice obvious as well.

Playoff rosters are not built on merit or need alone. Clubhouse considerations and chemistry are a factor. And in Mathenys world, what you did in the past.

What is the infatuation with Bourjos? I don't get it. He cant hit and his defense is vastly overrated. Can he steal bases? Sometimes. But that's not enough to put him on the playoff roster IMO.

Maness really took a dump recently, but I still prefer him to Broxton. I am not a Cardinals fan, so I don't watch them nearly as much as you guys....but I wholeheartedly believe that Broxton will cost you guys in the playoffs. He simply isn't very good. Just watch. He is going to give up the cookies in an important spot. I hope it doesn't cost you dearly.
