Chiefs Can Weddle replace Berry? - Page 8

Weddle had a down season playing on a horrendous San Diego defensive roster but the man is a proven product and is hungry for a title. Berry on the other hand seems to be $$ driven and is showing no signs of giving us a home team discount with the rumors going around the NFL. I find that disappointing given how the organization stood by him during his illness. Despite being 'comeback player of the year' his game footage was actually quite mediocre with only 55 tackles, poor coverage of tight ends, and oftentimes late to help corners on deep routes.

For 2 years, $12 million...I can't help but think that Weddle would be a great fit in this defense* and gives us adequate time to draft a long term replacement. This also gives us the ability to retain Howard and spend money on either Sean Smith or a free agent corner/linebacker.

Weddle, Poe, Howard, Houston, Peters would be a helluva lineup!

as GM Dorsey cant be a homer (too many in here are like little boys with toys) he has to do what the numbers will allow.

Berry is not worth top 3 money at his position just takes too much of the cap for his production.

Better to have to bookend corners in this league right now. We all saw what happened when Smith was out the first few games.

The salary cap can be managed through clever contract design and the Chiefs have plenty of cap room to afford Berry, DJ, and either Smith or Howard, you tongue sucking mongoloid.

The fact that he thinks Weddle is a leader is a ****ing joke. As if we needed any more evidence that Black bob is a ****ing idiot.

Weddle was a healthy scratch the last two games of the season. He made a big public feud with the Chargers over his contract for TWO consecutive seasons. His agent shit on Brandon Flowers and the Chargers because Flowers got paid and Weddle didn't. Weddle missed wide open tackles as the last line of defense multiple times last season and the feeling around San Diego is that he quit on this team.

And he's never been a high turn over guy either.

GTFO with that shit. Unlike Berry in KC, San Diego doesn't want weddle. The dude is about as selfish as it gets and he isn't even half the tackler that Berry is.

If you were an under appreciated safety playing on one of the league's worst defense,s would you give a **** what your organization has to say about you after giving your heart and soul to the franchise and they expect you to do clean up work behind inept defenders?

Didn't think so.

What's pathetic is that we have played against Weddle twice a year for almost a decade and you have zero clue of how much of an impact he has had in this league.
