Pro Bowl FS Reggie Nelson Still Available
Yeah, he's up there in age, but he tied with Marcus Peters for most INTs last year and made the Pro Bowl. No sign of slowing down. I suspect that he'd love playing with Eric Berry and Marcus Peters. Hell of a secondary. Time to kick the tires on a proven veteran leader that's still playing at a Pro Bowl level?
Interceptions - 8 Tackles - 52 Assisted Tackles - 25 Combined Tackles - 77 (Karmic twist: He recently said, “I love playing for KC.” when talking about DB coach, Kevin Coyle.) http://www.endzonescore.com/reggie-n...vailable/37087 The Cincinnati Bengals have, shockingly, allowed veteran free safety Reggie Nelson to remain on the free agent market for nearly three weeks now. Considering Nelson is coming off of a career year in which he led the NFL in interceptions, it is even more shocking that a team in need of a safety has not scooped him up. The Bengals made the wise decision to re-sign young strong safety George Iloka very early in the free agent signing period, but 32-year-old Nelson still has a lot left in the tank. The Bengals are definitely deep at defensive back, but Nelson provides a veteran presence that cannot be found just anywhere. He was a defensive captain for the Bengals this past season and was a certified ball hawk in the secondary from start to finish. Several teams have been linked to Nelson, mostly because it is hard not to link a team to a star player who recently made the Pro Bowl, but the Bengals are surely still talking with him. It remains to be seen whether anything substantial will come of those talks, as the Bengals have been engaged in heavy discussions with other free agents this past week. However, they would be foolish to play a game of cat and mouse with Nelson. Not only would it be extremely disrespectful to a player who has worn the Cincy stripes with pride for six seasons now, but it would also be too risky. There is no way that Reggie Nelson will remain unsigned for much longer, so the Bengals must make it a priority to bring him back to Cincinnati as soon as possible. I doubt any team in the league could get as much out of him as Marvin Lewis and Vance Joseph did the past few years. Marvin Lewis is probably the best in the business in coaching/scheming the secondary.

Isn't it pretty telling that neither Lewis or Joseph want him? The Bengals have already said they are moving on and the Dolphins had him in for a physical but passed on him.

Isn't Aldon suspended for the year?
Man, if he comes back, the Raiders are gonna tough. I'm not sure but what I wouldn't consider them the team to beat in the west. |

Oakland is not the team to beat, though signing Smith or Nelson would help. You have to consider this when comparing KC and Oakland:
KC is miles ahead in terms of coaching. Smith, while not as statically flashy, has still been better than Carr thus far. Carr has the pretty TD numbers, but what did he do every time he faced a great defense? He blew. His QBR reflects these flaws. Oakland has the edge at WR (though KC isn't going to be bad there), but at RB and TE KC is miles ahead. Oakland gets the edge at OL on paper, but KC won't be a bottom feeder there either. KC has one of the best interior DL's in the whole NFL. Our edge rushers, with Houston healthy, are right there with them. ILB is advantage KC by a long shot. Our secondary is still better, especially with them losing their leader in Woodson. I'm not biting the hype just yet. Del Rio needs to start by not getting taken to the woodshed by Reid for once before I take the bait. |

Raiders are the paper champs and everyone is picking
Them. It is very close between us and them. Reggie McKenzie learned from the same teacher who taught Dorsey and it's showing with their draft picks. They are a playoff team this year IMO. |

To hell with being a paper champion.
Let the talking heads pick Oakland. Just motivate our guys a little more. Keep up the disrespect, while they ignore the facts. I cannot wait for this fall. Where good teams actually show out. |

Doesn't change the fact that Reid is one of the best gameplanners in NFL history. Del Rio got raped in that week 17 game and it was obvious from the jump. |

![]() Andy Reid, even with his faults, is easily the best head coach in the AFCW. EASILY. |
