All Garcia has ever done is hit. He hit at every level in AAA, and he's hit well at the Major League Level as well. He's not an especially polished defender, but I don't see a big difference between him and Wong, who has given the team all of 3.6 WAR over 1150 PA.

The team should have sent Adams down. He serves no purpose on this team. Garcia can at least run the bases and play more than one defensive position.

Also, you can't send Tejada down without outrighting him, which means that you're likely flushing 1.5 mil before he's had a single AB.

The Cardinals shouldn't care about 1.5 mil. If they don't think Garcia or Diaz can't handle the SS position until Peralta returns, I understand. But, send the fat **** down to work on his swing instead.
