I would argue it's not a need but I did like our 3TE offense two years ago.

Without a true threat opposite Maclin (at WR) we would at least have a more physical presence...

To be able to get the best TE prospect in the draft and pair that with Kelce gives us one heck of a duo and creates mismatches for opposing defenses. I'd say that's damn good value to trade out of the first for and is a move that Bellichek has always tried to make for the Patriots. I just like that Henry gives us another talented weapon and provides insurance in the event Kelce is injured.

I wasn't high on the idea but the more I think about it the more I like it.

And lets be honest - when our running game was working everything else did...
