Chiefs announce Bray as the backup QB
http://arrowheadaddict.com/2016/05/2...p-quarterback/
Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid made a surprising declaration on Tuesday afternoon. The Chiefs are still a little more than two months away from the start of training camp in St. Joe’s, but we already have some very interesting news on the depth chart front. Reid has proclaimed that Tyler Bray, not Aaron Murray or Kevin Hogan, is entering training camp as the primary backup quarterback to Alex Smith. Murray was a fifth-round pick back in 2014 while Hogan was a fifth-round selection in April. Despite being an undrafted free agent in 2013, Bray has stuck on the roster but never appeared or been active for a game in the regular season. He was placed on injured reserve last year after sustaining a torn ACL in a pickup basketball game. Bray has all the physical tools you could want. He’s 6-foot-6 and 215 pounds and at 24 years old, might finally be seizing the moment after sitting behind Chase Daniel and Murray. It will be fascinating to see if Bray can hold off Murray and Hogan in camp, not having thrown a competitive pass in two years. |

Either way absentee seniority gets him put higher than someone that has been practicing week in and week out like Murray? That doesn't seem fair without something more behind it.

The bottom line is that Tyler Bray needs to take advantage of every single snap this preseason because the Chiefs have the least amount invested in him, making him the first guy to be cut if he's equal to or underperforms compared to Murray and Hogan. |

It makes no sense to let Bray have the #2 just because he has been on the squad longer. Murray's being on the active roster along with being in all the meetings and practices should have out weighted Bray at this point, but that is not the case.

As Reid said, it's wide open. They're all getting snaps. Being #2 at this point means absolutely nothing. |

Dane is so ****ing funny.
Bray gets an extension...means nothing -Dane Bray named the backup....means nothing -Dane ...and Dane's reasoning is because the other two lesser options were drafted. That's it. LOL... Bray will take start a game for this team and Dane will say it still means nothing. Keep it going Bamb...I mean Dane. And everyone keep doubting.

Makes sense for them to go with Bray. He knows the playbook the best out of the three (at least you'd think so with him being here this long), he has the best tools, and he honestly doesnt have any more leash to be given.
Time to shit or get off the pot. He's going to be given the best surrounding cast over Murray and Hogan, and if he doesn't show that he's vastly improved since day 1 or at least show some significant promise, I dont see them keeping him. Murray shouldn't be far behind, the job is his for the taking imo. |
