The Texas type Garlic Toast is in the frozen foods and seems to be pretty popular as I have many times had to go to the grocery and get because its oos. A lot of stuff is pure garbage there like batteries and such. Whe I smoke I alway get foil pans there as its perfect to lay in bottom smoker as drip pan or to set a pork but in for pulling. |

Generally, the stores priced at a dollar [not DG] are a cheaper Big Lots. They pick up anything packaged to sell at a dollar. Out of print paperbacks, paper goods, food, knicknacks, you name it. It could be non-band name or brand name stuff. For example, you could find Pringles for $1,29 or $79 cents at a regular store, but they're always $1 at a dollar store. Same for can goods, sometimes it's a deal. Sometimes you can get better on sale at HyVee. I can get a dozen eggs for .69 at Aldis, or !.28 at Dierburgs. Again, always $1 at DG. Lots of candy that didn't take off. Odd flavors of Skittles, or Snickers with almonds instead of peanuts, that kind of stuff.

Also, meant to include, all that Nature's Own bread at the dollar store is also available at the [former Wonder Bread] day old bread stores in huge quantities every day. Wait a day, and go in early, and they have it for .50. Plus baked pies and twinkies.

Probably, where did your Hostess outlet used to be?
In KC I know the one in Grandview off 71, and the one in SKC just across from the site of the original Smokestack, Hickman Mills Drive, just off 71.

It's mostly rebranded Hostess/Wonder stuff [mini doughnuts, fruit pies, danish, etc.] The bread offerings have expanded to Nature's Own and Cobblestone. Cobblestone bread is some of the best mass market bread, only they sell smaller [right sized] loaves for the same price as a full loaf, but worth it.
