Scenario:
-You date a girl
-You brake up with the girl with a feeling of indifference.
-You're told she dating someone who's of a lower standard than you perceive yourself, in terms of earning, looks, personality, etc...
-You're told by your friends that this is "a win".

Is it?

It troubles me that you care who she's dating which leads me to believe this isn't true:

I'm not worried. I'm a middle aged man who drives a minivan. I haven't given a **** about this girl since we broke up, I've only wondered about this question.

Every other girl I've dated, as far as I know, has done better than me by moving on to guys with far better earning potential, (doctors, lawyers etc..).
Little do they know, I'm the son and the heir of a shyness that is criminally vulgar.

Well, your question is phrased like a self-absorbed teenage would. "What's worse?" You mean, "What's worse for your personal ego on whether you chose the right thing?"

I tend to still be friends with many of my girlfriends and wish only the best for them. I liked them enough to be with them.. or to marry them in the case of my ex-wife. I genuinely want to see them do well and be happy the rest of their life. Why wouldn't I?

So, it would be worse if she was dating a "loser", since I don't wish that on anyone. I've even told ex-es they could and should be doing better. But, again, "loser" is a strange term. I define "loser" as someone who treats them poorly I guess.

Oh I get what this question is really about. It's about when your favorite sports team moves to another town your asking if you should root for that team. Well it's ****ing another town. Your team is a slut whore time to move on and get over it.

Find another respectable team that has it's roots in the heartland and just drafted a hot prospect quarterback that is going take over the league and dominate the division for a decade to come. Say goodbye and say hello to your new better looking team.
