Hunt and Dorsey
Everyone wants to make this about Andy Reid. Maybe this had nothing to do with Reid. Maybe this was 100% between Hunt and Dorsey (for whatever reason).
I remember the awkward moment they had on draft day when Mahomes was drafted. Watch the last 10 seconds or so of this video. Maybe it's nothing, but it sure looked awkward. The fumbled hand shake degenerating to a hand/fist bump; then Dorsey puts both hands behind his back and Clark gives Dorsey his back as he walks off with no further interaction. I'm no psychologist, but that looks like some awkward body language to me, especially between an owner and GM that just made a bold move to get a franchise qb.

Clark I believe has to approve in advance all trades that include a first round pick just like Lamar did.
He knew prior what was going down.

To me, it confirms what I thought, Hunt didn't want to do it. Now this is my opinion, but I have always thought Lamar, on his dying bed, said no QB to Clark in the first and he wanted to stick with it but let his team have their way. Last edited by HemiEd; 06-23-2017 at 04:41 PM.. |

Clearly Hunt doesn't want Mahomes. He will be gone in 3 years. God I'm starting to hate this franchise. Who knew there was a gene that hates drafting a QB? It runs strong in the Hunt family.

Don't like saying it ,but this seems plausible. ChUNT did not like how his money was being spent.

It's a business and all decisions are based on money. The safe financial decision would have been to take a fatty, or at the most a wr, like they have been doing for 30+ years. If Mahomes flops like Blackledge, Clark will be waking up in the middle of the night to his Dad saying I told you so! Do you remember the 80s Chiefs? I am thrilled they did it, don't get me wrong, it's going to be fun to watch but it isn't my money. |

Dorsey was crazy pumped by the trade and pick. It's his deal and he will always get 1000% of the credit/blame for Mahomes. Clarkbar and his new GM won't accept a discounted amount of credit for the Chiefs success over the next 15 years. Mahomes will not be the franchise QB of the Chiefs. Think about it, Mahomes is Dorsey's signiature deal. If Mahomes becomes a stud, Clarkbar looks like an idiot for dumping Dorsey. This could not have happened at a worse time.
