Nothing about this, the timing of the decision, Dorsey's performance, letting Ballard get away, extending Reid immediately - nothing about it says that we are getting the truth here.

There's no way I'm going to buy it was *simply* about money.

I'm also curious to find out what it was between Hunt and Dorsey. It's hard to separate speculation from truth at this point. It all SOUNDS like speculation.

I think it's all speculation, but that is all we have.

I imagine the reasons speculated in this article are probably some of the issues that led to this decision, but I also think that the manner is which Maclin's release was handled the straw, so to speak..

In spite of the things that Dorsey was good at, that reflects on the Chiefs as an organization, and Clark could not let that go.

Yeah, but the truth could be that Hunt is taking the heat for Reid, who may have actually been the driving force. Who knows, but the explanations we've been given make no sense.

And why I said in another thread "Clark" showed he could be impulsive as this decision was and the points you make here. Clark doesn't strike me as an impulsive personality but he does come off with the ability to hide his feelings really well and then pull the passive/aggressive stunt against you out of the blue if you don't behave. Was it totally impulsive ? Not in the formal sense but Clark definitely didn't let anybody know his animosity towards Dorsey and then BAM !! I still think Dorsey pulling the media stunt of letting Hunt know through the media with whispers of wanting to go back to GB in order to get his extension done and then being warned not talk to GB is what did him in. I think Hunt caught him and didn't let him know he caught him "again" but waited till after all the draft work and FA stuff was done to fire him IMHO.

I still don't buy into anything about Dorsey going back to GB if a GM job opens up for him. HE just made deal of the century for the Chiefs with a QBotf and was stoked doing it. This is his blueprint for a Championship and everything he has done is to set this franchise up for long term success. Why wouldn't he want to be apart of that? Why wouldn't he want to reap what he sows in the ground? Why wouldn't he want be there for his young quarterback taking the training wheels off?

Every time I've seen Dorsey interview he speaks of this as his "dream job" in Kansas City

Clark can circle the wagons all he likes, and he will have steadfast help right here at CP among certain fans that truly believe he's just a great guy trying to do the best for his team, but pretty much everyone with a pulse and a grasp of franchise history knows full and well that the story being sold is bullshit and that Dorsey was fantastic at the most important element of his job.

Well on the surface, yes your logic computes here but go deeper. I think when you are talking about your "dream job" of which is rumored to be in GB then take all your points you made and look at them from Dorsey's perspective as being the obvious choice to replace Ted Thompson. Dorsey is basically showcasing, "look at what I have done here in KC and I am more than worthy in GB".
