When does Smith lose the team?

In his defense the play calling the last few weeks, particularly on 3rd down has been the worst I have ever seen. Also, the OLine can't block a good HS team right now for shit.

That being said, he is consistently bailing out way too early and missing way too many open receivers. The times where he needs to just let the ball fly and see what happens stopped after game 5.

So to the point, watch the int at the end of the Bills game and look at Kelce's reaction. Typical to a point but after the calling out after the Giants loss, you have to wonder when the offense is going to start tearing itself apart?

On the last 2 drives of the Bills game, he missed a wide open Wilson for 4 yards on 4th and 4 and went deep to Hill and threw incomplete. Then on the last play of the game for KC, Kelce is open and he threw into double coverage.

I think there are a lot of reasons for a civil war on the offense, from the coaching, to play calling to blocking ...but Smith has shit his pants the last several games and even those who have tried to defend him can no longer do it.

Neither one of which I could give 2 squirts of piss for. I don't care who on this offense gets pissed about benching Smith. There are 2 players worth a shit, Kelce and Hill. Everyone else is either a rookie or worthless or both. Kelce and Hill both would probably silently welcome Mahomes.

This season is over. Andy’s fat ass is too stubborn to admit signing another 49ers backup was a mistake. **** both of them.

It wasn't a mistake. The Chiefs needed a QB like Smith to regain respectability.

The mistake was in not trading Smith this season.. and even in that, it's hard to say what is best for the development of Mahomes.

This season is likely over either way, but it's time to give Mahomes his shot, imo.

Smith signing wasn't a mistake, it helped turn things around

Unfortunately the time has come for us to move on

I've been saying this to my wife the last couple of weeks now. There's some more going on than Alex being a shitty QB. Somethings off in the locker room, we're just not hearing about it...yet.

Exactly!

The Steeler game reminded the Chiefs team where they really stood,in reference to being truly a contender to win the AFC! They reminded the Chiefs trenches that they are soft and can be pushed around. And most of all they reminded Smith of his severe limitations in reference to throwing into the zone into tight windows and his unwillingness to do so for whatever reasons giving the rest of the league the blueprint to shut down our offense which has worked these last six weeks. And for what it is worth the Chiefs looked beat before that Steeler game was ever played. So once Smith and the offense recognized every defense is going to play them this way you immediately saw the psychological funk set in deeper and deeper each week until now.

I don't know about that. Chris Carter, Larry Fitzgerald, and TG played with a bunch of shit QBs and they are or will be hall of famers.

Kelce and Hill are not very consistent. TG definitely catches the slant for the TD last week and doesn't get alligator arms.

Kelce's career will be a flash in the pan. Just like Jeremy Shockey. The bad attitude is going to ruin him. It will grow tired.

Well at least those manure quarterbacks got a chance to show they were manure. Lack of consistency from Hill and Kelce is not on them it is clearly on the QB Smith.

And if I remember correctly, we had lost 6 straight games until we benched Grbac and went to Gannon.

Interesting... a QB change makes a difference even if the entire team isn't playing well.

You taking notes, Baby Lee?

Hill? Maybe? But Kelce? He is really inconsistent. Always has been. Inconsistent pass catcher, route runner, and blocker.

It's true. It's our only chance to do anything this year. We won't get there with Alex.
