Dee Ford's NFL career:

0 sacks, 4 sacks, 10 sacks, 0 sacks, 13 sacks

That's what it comes down to. Once guy is solid and dependable. The other guy is a coin flip between brilliant and brokedick.

We're not all ever going to agree on this. These 2 preferences go to the core of our character and what we value.
Well that's why he's on the tag. We get the luxury of finding out if he's truly a broke dick or if the injuries early on were a fluke.

Trey Flowers produced average production on a superior defense with the leagues best coaching.

Dee Ford out produced him in every category on a Bob Sutton led Chiefs D.

You think 1 year of Dee Ford is a risk. I think 4+ years of Trey Flowers is an even bigger risk.

Pro Sports are about play makers. It's why we all wanted a QB like Pat Mahomes. It's why the world loves players like MJ, Mahomes, Jeter, Lebron, Curry....Brady.

I'll take the superior talent, play maker over the "lunch pale" try hard every time. You can find try hard guys everywhere.

The exception being serious red flags. Ford is a 50/50. Which is why the tag is perfect for him. Show that you can stay healthy and we have a playmaker. Show that you can't? Cya.

If he were to reproduce his 2018 numbers in 2019 he'll be a bargain compared to Khalil Mack. IF! Considering what the Raiders got for Mack I think we're underestimating what Ford is worth on the market. We should receiver no less than a 1st round value for Ford in a trade.

You can't fill an entire team with playmakers. This isn't basketball where it's 5 superstars and a couple of guys off the bench. In football....you can have superstars....but a majority of your team is going to have to be at least average players that do the jobs assigned.

Right, but you need a few to build around on both sides of the ball. Keep picking away at that and you're quickly left with a team full of JAGS who can't make a play when a play is needed to be made.

Like a clutch strip sack to end a drive...or a game changing interception.

Keep losing those guys and a bad defense gets worse.

They'll take a 2nd round pick

Man...that's really tempting, especially by a team picking in the top 10 of the 2nd round. We'd have 3 2nd rounders to rebuild.

If we then get a bag of baseballs for Houston....wow .

Here's my ONLY concern, would our Ends in the 4-3 KPass and Speeks, be enough of a pass rush? Or are we going to have to get one, maybe two in the draft?

If they successfully trade Ford i'd imagine they'd go DE early.

Some sort of combination like that i'd imagine. More likely we'd see one of those 2nds used to trade up, or flipped for a player on his rookie contract.

NFL defense isn't about dynamic playmakers anymore. We had TWO of them this season and in the biggest game of the season, they were completely neutralized.

Defense in the modern NFL is about intelligence, cohesion, and discipline. Just a few more things Ford lacks.

Let me make this clear, AGAIN.

If you're tagging Ford, it's a 1-year deal. Stop saying you need something to build around. You're not building around a 1-year deal. Those two ideas don't coexist.

Man...I really wish Houston would restructure. We would really be in great shape. I'm sort of against trading up, and would rather get 4 REALLY good players instead of 2 slightly BETTER THAN REALLY GOOD players.

Then in FA if we could get a Safety, slot WR, and RB, we can really be in great shape.

Aaron Donald is a once-in-a-generation player, surrounded by guys that either are, or have been, dynamic playmakers at their position.

In the most critical situation of their season, they let the Patriots offense of unathletic, average, white guys march right down the field and seal the game.
