Let’s talk about the Miami Dolphins

Headed down to a familiar location for the Florida heat and a highly formidable opponent.

The Dolphins have a great defense, a mediocre at best offense. Not all that different from Denver really, but coached better.

A win would clinch the AFCW for the 5th straight season, so there is some added importance. Of course we are on Pittsburgh’s heels, too.

I think we all aren’t totally sure what to make of the team at this point. They’ve been inconsistent in their focus, their execution. There seem to be problem areas that could be upgraded by simply plugging a backup in (hi, Wis), but it remains to be seen if any changes are going to be made.

It’s a weird league where outcomes are all over the place, winning is really damn hard, but they’re still 11-1 and largely look to be on cruise control half the time. I do think there’s something to be said for the GS Warriors comparison where sometimes they just don’t flip the switch until they have to. I guess we will see what happens as the games get bigger and bigger for this team.

This one won’t be easy, but if the offense comes out locked in from the go, it shouldn’t be a scare. I also think it’s another opportunity for the defense to perform well again, but I still feel like we need more from our pass rush along the DL moving forward.

Game is at noon on CBS...

When you see Tua doing that stuff...you'll know you got a good one.

I was physically at the Pittsburgh game in 2018 (2nd game of the 2018 season), and saw him carve up the Steelers that day, in a place the Chiefs haven't won a game since the early 1980s....In Pat's third NFL start, he led a team to do something the franchise as a whole hadn't done since Pat Mahomes SENIOR was a teenager....and did it in glorious fashion throwing 6 TDs against a pretty good Steelers defense.....

It was solidified to me the next week against the 49ers: 2nd Q TD pass to Conley in the back of the end zone, where he ran all around avoiding the rush...that in and of itself was crazy, but how he found Conley through all that was amazing, and unlike anything I had ever seen from a Chiefs QB in my lifetime.....and anytime you get Richard Sherman to do a "WTF shoulder shrug...." it probably must be good....I had no worries about Mahomes after that play.....

You could tell we had something right away, but after the Pittsburgh game I knew we had a real shot a super bowl with him.

Anyway I always knew Mahomes would be good. Just because I have so much respect for Reid and his ability to coach and evaluate QBs.

You gotta remember how much Reid liked Alex as a person and as a QB. Reid always said he wanted to coach him and that Alex's career would have been very different if Reid coached him from the beginning. We all know the story. So in order for us to trade up for Mahomes w what Alex went through in SF w Kaepernick and the respect Reid has for Alex I knew Mahomes had to have something Reid saw that made him say we can't pass this QB. Veach of course is main guy who did that but that trade doesn't happen wout Reid's approval I'm sure

What impressed me most about the Steelers game was that he didn't let playing on the road against a tough opponent effect him which is rare w young QBs. There aren't many QBs period who have done that to a Steelers D much less @Pitt. I was shocked id never seen a Chiefs QB light up Steelers like that and we have played them a lot throughout the years. That's when I knew he was going to be special because that's not normal. Most importsntlt, of course, Chiefs won which I think was at that time our first win @Pitt in a very long time.

What's Mahomes road record anyone know? I'm willing to bet it's very very good because I don't recall our offense playing any worse on road than they do at home. That's a testament to Mahomes and something you can't really teach.

He still can get better too. He misses some deep balls every now and then which every QB does but he can get better in that area. He can get off to a slow start at times. He can sometimes go for big play when it is unnecessary. He can abandon pocket sooner than he should at times. He hasn't peaked yet which is scary to think about.

There was evidence in the 2017 but it was preseason.

The throws he made in his 1st start at the end of 2017 was all I needed to see. I knew he was going to be special at that point.

That being said, I had no idea he'd be THIS special.

At least the game was interesting. After the 30 unanswered points, I was ready to start drinking. I'm sure the Chiefs took the foot off the gas, but did not imagine they would let us come back that far.

Great game and you guys deserve all the accolades you receive.

Thank you. Your team played hard as expected. That is a well coached team and at least a year ahead of where they should be. If Tua pans out your team will be dangerous in the coming years.

He is 20-4 on the road. 62 touchdowns and 13 interceptions

Before yesterday he had a 6/1 TD to interception ratio on the road
