How do you feel about Popeyes chicken?

Love that spicy chicken with a side of red beans and rice!

The first Popeye's to ever open in the Green Bay area has been disgustingly successful. It's been in business for over a year now and the line still gets so long during peak hours that there has to be traffic director instructing cars where to go park to wait for their food in the drive-thru. They will literally hire you on the spot at $12 bucks an hour if you walk in and have functioning limbs. You don't even have to fill out an application.

I drove by the place at 10:30 AM on Tuesday and there was a line wrapped around the building. It's on the corner of two of the busiest intersections in town and it was actually causing traffic jams at one point. It's completely ridiculous. I'm sure the chicken is good, but man, you'd think there was a healer curing diseases in the joint or something. Never seen anything like it in my life.

It happens when they open a place like that with a reputation for good food (deserved or not is another thing). We dealt with the same thing in Colorado Springs when they opened up the first In N Out here.

I LOVE Popeye's spicy, but that new spicy BK Ch'King is outstanding, which shocks me. Our BK is fine, but the overall quality is, well, BK-quality. The Ch'King seems to be far above the typical fare there.

thats exactly what I'm afraid is gonna happen at this supposed new Popeyes in my town... nonstop mayhem so bad you dont even wanna bother for way longer than usual

I've witnessed the exact same thing at the new Portillos (famous Chicago based Italian beef etc) 30 miles away... they opened last December 8, and just two weeks ago during my 5th attempt, the line STILL looked so mind boggling that I didn't even bother, again

2 massive lines, with a gigantic pull over and wait area, 3-4 guys out there in high-vis orange vests directing the madness looking like some kinda highway road crew... just nucking futs

I guess it just shows that people in smaller towns across the land are krazy desperate for something different than your usual crap found in every little shithole town

McDonalds
Hardees
Arby's
KFC
Taco Bell
Burger King

Meanwhile places like Popeyes and Portillos are old hat in the cities

Same thing happened when they opened up Krispy Kreme and In n Out burgers here in Texas.

In n Out is ok, but no way in hell I’m waiting in a 2 hour car line to get anyone’s food.

Does anyone remember KFCs chicken nuggets? They were great, I would eat a whole box. They were like little pieces of original recipe.

I wish I had these fast food options near me. I'm in western Shawnee and you'd think I was in BFE. Only McDonald's and Wendy's unless I want to drive several miles. I don't like McDonald's and Wendy's burgers make me feel like I ate a brick.

The KFC chicken sandwich isn't half bad either. If you get a good, fresh one. Which at KFC...doesn't happen very often.

sounds like the Culver's in Olathe.

that place is a money machine. a machine because the food is always hot, fresh, good, and everyone is friendly. the exact opposite of McD's or any other fast food place for the most part lol.

if fast food chains were football players, Culver's would be Mahomes, and McDs and BK here locally would be Josh Rosen.

and that's no shit.

God ****ing awful places near me.

Culver’s was founded here in Wisconsin and are all over the place here. There’s 5 locations within 20 minutes of me, and you are absolutely correct. I’m not even sure you can consider them fast food, it’s another level. The Pretzel House Pub Burger is legitimately one of the top 3 burgers I’ve ever eaten.

They are truly top shelf in every way.

truth.

I had zero idea what "Culver's" was . just stumbled ass backwards into it.
I usually operate under the mindset if a place is busy as F at lunch and or dinner time (aside from McD's ...which is perpetually shit regardless of popularity)...there's probalbly a reason why. and the opposite is true....if a place is dead at lunch and dinner....it probably sucks . either the food sucks; or the dinning room is disgusting.; or the service and people are shit. (which is the case for all the fast food near me...it's all god ****ing awful. to the point, we RARELY get anything. Chipotle and Go Chicken Go are the most consistent near us...I"m shocked McD's near us is even in business)

either way...I'm avoiding a place if it's dead at peak hours.

Culvers (at least the one near me), is money every time we've gone. perfect balance of quality, fresh, service, price, friendliness etc. Shit, for the price, it's better than 90% of the bar and grill types. for $20 at Culver's...you'lll walk away very pleased and not have to **** around with worrying about shitty bar service or shitty bar food and smug waitresses. $20 for Culver's; or $40 with tip for shitty bar food and shitty bar skank waitresses. Hard decision lol

Culver’s seems like a great company to work for. Have some relatives that work for them.

Another chain I like is Braums. I like their burgers and fries. Only seen them in Oklahoma and northern Texas.
