Raiders' Henry Ruggs in fatal accident - will be charged with DUI resulting in death

Update: Not a rumor, actually happened. Story developing.

Per TMZ: 10:27 AM PT -- A source close to Ruggs tells us the NFL'er is expected to be OK. The condition of the other people involved in the crash is still unclear.

10:40 AM PT -- A law enforcement source tells us at least one person involved in the crash has died. Ruggs' attorney, David Chesnoff, tells TMZ Sports, "On behalf of our client Henry Ruggs III we are conducting our own investigation as of this writing and ask everyone to reserve judgment until all the facts are gathered."

He made a mistake. You've never driven drunk in your life?

My condolences to victim and their family too of course.

Anyone that does isn’t just making a mistake. They are selfish people that deserve nothing but scorn and ridicule. That extends to you as well it seems.

Pretty cheap considering the alternative.

This could’ve been completely avoided.

So NV law seems to indicate a min 2 years and up to 20 years are in store for Ruggs if convicted.

So terrible for the person that died. There is no reason a DUI should occur with all the ride sharing options available.

I don’t know how you can call driving drunk a “mistake” in the year 2021.

Maybe it was a mistake the first time some farmer wrapped his Model T around an oak tree drunk 100 years ago, but not now.

He was drunk.. I'm sure he wasn't thinking clearly and thought he would be fine..

I'm not saying he shouldn't be punished but let's not act like he went out looking to kill someone for no reason that day.

It's a tragic situation but I'm not going to judge him too harshly. You know many kids his age drive drunk every wkend?

Yeah, I guess it would really "suck for them" if they ended up killing someone.

I'm thinking the number of people who would answer yes to that question would significantly decrease if you take into account how drunk and/or fast and/or reckless you would have to be driving on a city street to do that to your car.

Not to say there's a "right way" to drive drunk, but there's also a big difference with "shit, I might have had one too many" and not making things significantly riskier by driving like a douchebag.

This is really going to screw up their chemistry...it would be impossible for this not to be a distraction...on top of the Gruden situation.

He was their Hill...and finally starting to do some damage.

I'm impressed how quirky the Gruden thing was swept under the rug.

Going out drinking tonight in the rideshare capital of the US ---> get a ride.

You don't even need your future drunk self to make any decisions.

He wasn't handcuffed by his own drunkness or being stranded somewhere or any other excuse.... and he's probably put other people's lives at risk before and is now paying a price for his idiocy, and sadly someone else is paying the ultimate price.
