Update: Not a rumor, actually happened. Story developing.

Per TMZ: 10:27 AM PT -- A source close to Ruggs tells us the NFL'er is expected to be OK. The condition of the other people involved in the crash is still unclear.

10:40 AM PT -- A law enforcement source tells us at least one person involved in the crash has died. Ruggs' attorney, David Chesnoff, tells TMZ Sports, "On behalf of our client Henry Ruggs III we are conducting our own investigation as of this writing and ask everyone to reserve judgment until all the facts are gathered."

A lot of rumors floating around, and there was a pretty bad vehicular accident last night in Las Vegas.

I have no idea if Ruggs was involved as the internet claims.

I would imagine that he's either still not believing it's serious (which seems implausible), or he's so depressed that he figures getting 41 years instead of 40 years doesn't matter. It may not matter to him now, but it'll be a top of mind issue in the year 2061.

I don't know much about practicing law, but when something as idiotic as "self-testing for alcohol" comes up, whose idea is that? Does Ruggs come up with it, and the lawyer has no choice to pass it on? Is Ruggs just playing video games and the lawyer makes it up just to have a response?

I'm trying to figure out why a lawyer would say something that's so stunningly dumb that it has to hurt his client's case. Is he/she required to say it if the defendant insists? Or does the lawyer have the option to say no, and for some reason this lawyer thought it was a good idea? Or does Ruggs even know it was said because he's not picking up the phone and this was a really bad idea that his lawyer came up with to "defend the client".

If I was on a jury and I heard that, I'd another few years to the sentence because I'd assume that Ruggs is too stupid to be out in public.

I don’t think the jury gets to decide how many years a person would go to prison.

Thankfully I've never been called upon for jury duty, I always thought if I was interviewed I would wear a clothing like a hat or shirt that would show an ambiguous leaning to a political party. that would be enough for a lawyer to say we don't want him.
