Has your outlook on Chiefs football changed ever since we won the super bowl?

Maybe I'm just getting older but ever since we won the super bowl a few years ago losing hasn't bothered me except for the super bowl loss to the Bucs & the Bengals game for an hour. Before we would lose a regular season game and it would **** my whole day up and I would be on here nearly getting banned.

Did the super bowl victory change anything for you?

Absolutely and I wasn't a fan of him when we hired him. You can argue had we made the year before this team would have played in 3 out of the last 4 super bowls.

Any future titles are just house money at this point.
This.

I've seen my STL Cardinals win three World Series. Got to watch seven games out of those WS at Busch.

The Sooners have won two college championships in my adult lifetime.

I've seen my Blues finally win their first Cup.

And now I've seen the Chiefs finally win a Super Bowl.

I could die tomorrow pretty happy.

But it's more than that as well. It's that we have Mahomes for nearly the rest of my life. I literally may not have to endure another losing season.

The Chiefs are going to be relevant front-runners for the SB for the foreseeable future. I'm good with letting the chips fall.

But here's the thing, dude.

If only Carl Peterson hadn't gone cheap with a kicker in 95, Bono could have led us to a Super Bowl!

If only the REFS hadn't called a phantom holding penalty on a field goal kick in 97, Grbac could have led us to a Super Bowl!

If only Mike Maslowski didn't get hurt in 03', Trent Green could have led us to a Super Bowl!

If only the REFS didn't screw us by calling a pass interference penalty against us when we played at Dallas in 05', Trent Green could have led us to a Super Bowl! (We were just gelling at the end there!)

If only Dwayne Bowe got both his feet in bounds in 13', Alex Smith could have led us to a Super Bowl!

If only Jamaal Charles didn't fumble against the Broncos in 15', we would have had the one seed and Alex Smith would have led us to a Super Bowl!

If only the REFS didn't call a phantom holding penalty against Eric Fisher in 16', Alex Smith would have led us to a Super Bowl!

If only the REFS didn't call forward progress against the Titans in 17, Alex Smith would have led us to a Super Bowl!

There's just not a common thread to be had here, man. Just a series of bad luck decisions and the REFS screwing us flyover peasants from ever reaching the big game.

I am perpetually ecstatic we have Mahomes, and have been since we drafted him. There isn't an earlier and more steadfast proponent of him than I.

But the point is, football isn't about drafting the best QB ever, then sitting back in your Barcalounger satisfied that your job is done in perpetuity.

It's about building a team and achieving things, and if the Chiefs head the leg up of having Mahomes and STILL fail to build a team and achieve things, that's not a testament to much in the big scheme of things.

As it stands now, the Seahawks have a pedigree of doing more with Russell ****ing Cornball Wilson IN THE ERA OF THE PATRIOTS DYNASTY than the Chiefs have yet.
How did the Russell Wilson Seahawks accomplish more? Seahawks and Chiefs both 1-1 in the Super Bowl, except the Seahawks never made it past the divisional in any other year. We’ve made it to the AFCCG every year at a minimum, and aren’t done yet

Winning the Super Bowl plus living out of market has helped me gain some perspective. Living around Bears fans and now Cards fan is a constant reminder of how things were pre-Mahomes and probably more accurately pre-Andy Reid.

Seeing indifferent fanbases with nothing to get excited about going into the season or into individual games each week helps me not take for granted how incredibly great things are for us right now.

That said, having a generational QB talent and HOF coach does bring a little pressure to do more than win just 1 SB in 50 years so I probably take losses harder than I'd like to admit but it only takes a day at most to move on.

Sometimes I feel like acting super chill about the Chiefs and telling everyone to calm down is the cool thing for fans to do but I don't really mind the nervous Nelly's, the Petez's, or anyone else who irrationally freaks out. It takes all kinds to make a up a fanbase.

Even before the Super Bowl I stopped getting worked up like I used to. It's just a game.

The GDTs are a real hoot.

I think we've moved beyond the point where most fans need to be convinced that the Chiefs have and are a great team that has accomplished a lot.

The only people melting down over losses week to week have some deep-seated insecurity issues

Yeah, I've decided to take a break from the GDTs because I get all worked up by the insanity. It's more fun for me to just enjoy the game and ignore all that until afterwards.

After the Super Bowl loss...I don't really get worked up anymore.

And I went into this game expecting a loss. It's early in the season and we're still trying to figure out who we are as a team.

I'm just glad that I got to see one championship in my lifetime. Watching the best QB I've ever seen play....that's just icing on the ****ing cake.
