Great trade for Chicago in my opinion. The goal is to get better and right now the Bears severely lack at WR outside of Mooney.

When you get a WR like Claypool for a 2nd rounder, you're doing things right. It isn't just about THIS year. Going forward, Claypool helps them a bunch. If they are going to compete, they have to get more talented in the passing game.

They don’t have a QB.

I don't think trading away an aging asset like Quinn really matters. Gibson and Robinson are the long-haul and that's a good tandem.

Roquan Smith, I have to think the writing was on the wall that he didn't want to stay for a 2nd contract as he's playing on his 5th-year option. Better to get something higher than a 3rd round comp if you can, and they did.

So, in the end, I'm not sure those are bad deals.

They traded away two defensive players (won't stop fields from getting killed) who costed a lot of money.

They added a wr who can help their first round pick grow as an actual passer who costs almost no money.

Their priority this year is to clean their cap and develop fields. In the process maybe try to compete. Makes sense to me. I don't see the point of spending huge dollars on defensive players if you're the bears right now. The bigger mistake was throwing fields to the wolves the way they did.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of Justin Fields.

They are also just good enough to be out of the sweepstakes for a top 2 pick. I'd venture to say they'll try to address it if they can but you never know. Poles seems to be dedicated to cleaning out the cobwebs though.

Probably not but if you're going to spend a top 15 pick on him its irresponsible to punt him to an island like they did. Especially with that bad offensive line. At least give him something to work with and give him a fair shot to sink.

He has actually been halfway decent compared to the rest of his QB class

I was going to say I don't think fields has been bad as I suspect most think he has been. I like his situation in Chicago better than his situation in Pittsburgh

As a Mooney owner in most of my fantasy leagues I can tell you that fields isn't a great qb.

Good move for the Bears. Gotta give that QB some type of help.

Not saying it's the same thing, but look what Stefon Diggs did for Josh Allen. Gotta surround young QBs with talent.

Yes. I can't figure out why in the world Pittsburgh traded Claypool. All you said also applies to them and their young QB.

Ironically Fields has been on a roll in fantasy. Considering seeing what I can get for Mahomes and grabbing him off waivers

Claypool is a ****ing beast. 6'4" 240 lbs and runs a 4.42 40. It's not like he doesn't have decent production and last year and the year before he had over 860 yards in each season. He hasn't had a QB worth a shit since he's been in the league.

He should be the number 1 guy in Chicago and should help Fields a ton. If Fields can just be not terrible, then Claypool will break out.

I really wish we would have gotten him. He would have balled out with Mahomes. Steelers are stupid for trading him.

I like Fields' toughness, and his athletic ability of course. And it's hard not to feel for the guy getting his ass kicked, running for his life and not having anyone he can trust on that offense. Gotta be a little lonely right about now.

If he ever gets a decent OL, he'll be okay. Not great, but a decent QB probably.

I would have loved for KC to have acquired this guy. He would have been awesome with Pat. Our own big push-off to get open type of receiver to mug db's.

I guess he was becoming a locker room problem according to talking heads so the squealers moved him.
