Yesterdays loss

I think some of you are overcomplicating things here a bit, looking for a boogey man where there may not be one.

The Chiefs had 8 drives yesterday. Really 7 if you take out the end of the half one where they just wanted to get into the locker room.

They scored on 4 of 7, missed a FG and fumbled. They ran for 140 yards and 2 td's.

The issue wasn't the OL. The issue was the Bengals condensed the game and made it a smaller sample size. When they are able to do that, it magnifies mistakes ala the fumble, missed FG etc.

You can't live with the blitz against elite QB's.

He came back in, but this is evidence of the problem. There is a certain discrepancy with our defense vs. the top defenses in the AFC.

If JuJu receives a ball across the middle, there is a safety there, and he gets popped.

If WRs for, say, the Bengals get the ball across the middle, Juan Thornhill is there. And he'll graze them, or whiff at them, or take wasted motion before trying to wrangle them in.

He's in position; he's right there to pop them, but he doesn't.

There's no "tax" to attacking us across the middle. There's no penalty. Teams don't worry about it.

Hopefully as the seasons go by, and Cook replaced Thornhill in the role, there will be a tax to pay.

But right now there isn't, and it's allowing the best QBs to attack us there with impunity.

It's also important to remember that the Chiefs got the ball back against the Bills with the ability to go up two scores late in that game as well, and couldn't seal the deal.

I do agree, that this team isn't leagues away from where it needs to be. But there is a glass ceiling there and I'm not 100% sure we have the tools to break it right now.

They condensed the game for themselves as well, though, and had an easy dropped TD along with a failed 4th down conversion.

I'm not truly concerned about the loss. I will say that. I did want that win, though. Most annoying thing about all of it is the Bengals/Burrow is our daddy bullshit I have to read until we're able to beat them or win another Super Bowl.

They condensed it enough to make it a true coinflip game and those end in coinflips.

Our Defense continues to NOT get stops when it really needs them.

Imagine how good this team would be with a defense that forces 3+ punts per game.

Since week 6 we have the most turnovers of any team. Last nights game with 5 from the Colts may have moved them ahead of us.

We are turning the ball over and not getting enough back.

That's not helping.

Add in a DLine that got NO pressure on Burrow yesterday and we got beat.

Our DBs did a great job, just too much time.

If you look at our turnover ratio it’s a miracle we’ve won as much as we have. All the other teams that have a similar ratio suck ass.

The Chiefs DL didn't come to play, they figured out if you make Bolton the point man in the run game he's a worse player than if he can scrape over the top. The safeties were also absolute trash, this style of team is extremely difficult for the defense.

Without a blitz we have zero pressure and Burrow sits there all day until a WR manhandles a CB for separation or he scrambles for 8....if you blitz him he lights you up every single play.

If you can't get 4 down pressure they're gonna move the ball all day.

You can't blitz elite QB's. We've seen this over and over and over. You've gotta get pressure with 4.

That's actually not true, blitzing Josh Allen doesn't get you killed every time. It depends on the team, QB etc..Burrow just kills us every single time.

no, the chiefs still moved the ball.

The Kelce fumble was just too huge.

Josh Allen is an elite athlete playing QB.

Joe Burrow is an elite QB in the pocket.

Bengals are giving up just over 3 sacks per game. Chiefs only got one that Burrow just gave them.

KC has to figure out how to get to Burrow. I don;t care if they hit him late. They need to make him uncomfortable.
