Can’t wait to get Hardman and Toney back

The offense lead the NFL in scoring as of yesterday and the offense put us in position to get at least 27 points but Butker missed the kick.

That was with the great play by Reader to bat a Mahomes pass away from a wide open Kelce inside the 10 and Kelce fumbling. It was also with Juju missing most of the 2nd quarter.

We saw MVS getting open a handful of times against this team even though he was the only pure speed we had at WR. Getting these 2 back changes everything.

Hardman alone as a gadget player changes a lot. Toney is a supremely talented player and we’ve seen it. You can’t drop 8 against that bc their combined speed makes it harder to defend for extended plays.

You can have a TE in to help a tackle and shift Mahomes to that protection bc of that added speed. And we’ll get Toney back for returns.

We haven’t seen a game yet where we have all of our weapons healthy and I think it’s a massive advantage. It’s gonna let Andy have so much more flexibility in playcalling.

The offense will be as good as it was in years when we get them back

Oh, I completely agree. The whole deal is he is on his rookie deal, and so you take the chance every time. I get it... I also get that part of the deal is experiencing the frustration of will he play or not?

Right now if there is hope, it's that Skyy Moore turns into a player.
Hardman is a hell of a weapon if we use him situationally and don’t overuse him. And he’d be great to have back there returning punts. The problem is when we ask him to be an every down WR especially if we already have Mvs in there . We have enough depth right now that we can just use mecole situationally

Trying to find any optimistic take on our Defense. I guess one point is that frank clark was sick. Not sure if that makes any difference at all. But even a little boost would’ve been nice. Frank clark being sick is becoming the new Sammy Watkins hamstring

Hardman is just flat quicker than MVS. He's not an elite route runner, but he's become a decent route runner with MVS type top speed but more wiggle. As such, I think he'd have gotten open a couple more times than MVS did, and maybe he makes one or two more catches, especially that one in the EZ that MVS dropped.

And Toney isn't dangerous because of his speed. Toney is the man-beater. His ability to shake loose almost instantly separates him from any other receiver on the roster, and most in the NFL. That, and his ability to make first tacklers miss consistently. He's a mismatch that only a couple teams in the league have a real answer for.

If he'd played yesterday, even with the other issues across the team, we probably win that game by a TD.

Snap counts:

MVS-56%
Juju (missed most of 2nd quarter)-76%
Watson-62%
Skyy-42%
Gray-58%
Fortson-18%

Aside from Kelce these are your receivers.

Why does Mahoms look so far off with MVS? MVS was coming back to the ball every time.

I liked Hardman a lot more once Reid started fulling utilizing him as a gadget weapon.

He's scary once he gets on the edge and we miss that element right now.

There are about 100 guys in the NFL that could be a Reid gadget guy. But yes, we need them right now because they arent on the roster when Hardman and Toney are hurt.

Toney is immensely talented, but to me seems like a tease. A world-class athlete who seems capable of being an elite weapon. Only catch is if he runs fast his hamstrings snap and when asked he says there's nothing that can be done to prevent that.

Skyy Moore ran a sweep play for 12 yards yesterday. Better than Hardman usually does. Any other gadget stuff that we need done?
