Discussion: Who should we consider for our first rd pick?

It’s that time fellas! Little over 3 weeks out and it’s in our house!

I’ll put 2 options here.

1. Who do we pick if we sign a vet WR (Hopkins?) before the draft.

2 who do we pick if we don’t sign anyone else before the draft.

Who ya got?

It's almost as tiring as watching a bunch of WR's who can't beat man coverage.

That’s not even counting the Colts game. That Bills game was certainly a traumatic experience from Orlando and Wylie. Good ****ing God man..
You have absolutely no faith in Veach. That's what this is. You've convinced yourself that Taylor is a RT and they still need a LT. You're wrong but you're entitled to your opinion.

It's not the same! We can get by with Sammie Parker as long as we have Willie Roaf at LT.

Why would Taylor play RT when we just gave him $20 million? I don’t think that would happen tbh. I think if they drafted Anton Harrison he’d start at RT

Definitely see at least 4 going. I fully expect Stroud, Young, Levis, and Richardson all going in the first, and probably in the top 15.

So we reach for one?

JSN isn’t gonna be around. I don’t think Johnston is either. It’s no secret that Belichick wants Zay Flowers. He’s in NE all day today on a visit. Cowboys brought in both Hyatt and Flowers. Ravens have been all over Johnston.

It’s not a great class in general and I think options will be limited.

Hyatt is probably the most likely IMO. Maybe we trade up. Maybe not.

But even still. One rookie WR? In this system? Is that gonna solve the problem day 1?

They're not going to spend a 1st round pick on a RT that won't be able to play LT until Taylor leaves. If they take a tackle in the 1st round, they're moving Taylor to RT at some point, which is never going to happen.

LOL yes 1 of which didn't catch a ball in the SB, another who can't stay healthy and no one even knows what Moore is.

Jawaan Taylor is a much more proven player as an OT than any of our WR's are.

You can't be serious.

We need bodies at both positions but when you look across the potential starters, there's no comparison between Taylor and ANY of the WR's. All of the WR's are either role players (MVS), injury prone (Toney), or completely inexperienced (Moore).

The guys that actually contributed meaningful snaps (other than MVS) are all gone.

If you truly think the OT position is worse off than WR, you're kidding yourself.

Jordan Addison?

I don't for a second think NE is taking a WR.

You're seriously going to talk about reaching for a WR with the 31st pick when there's actually people here that think we should trade UP for an offensive tackle?

Just stop already.

If you wanna get really really fair about this..

Niang and Toney are very comparable as far as their histories. So I find it mildly ironic the people who think Toney can be counted on are generally the same people who will shit all over Lucas Niang for being injury prone.
