YouTube starts charging money?
It said that I used Ad blocker to block the ads so I can't watch anything on Youtube now. Ineed to pay $15 for the premium Youtube per month. Does it happen to you guys?

I watch YouTube on a desktop computer connected to a 75 inch monitor hanging from my living room wall.

I don't cars for the built in TV apps, Chromecast, etc, and prefer browser, mouse and keyboard.

Although I also watch YouTube on a second desktop back in my bedroom with a more traditional monitor.

the backlash must be bad, or else they are tweaking it, but the ads are blockable/gone for the moment.

It's Google. They run A/B tests with everything and keep whatever approach makes them the most money. Then they try something else. Rinse and repeat.

This seems like a battle they've chosen to fight, so I expect the trials to continue.

At this point you have to install browser extensions to get around it if you don't want to pay. UBlock Origins extension still works. I also use an extension called Tamper Monkey that adds additional functionality for lots of other stuff. But UBlock Origins extension should be all that's necessary, or a combo of the two. If that doesn't work for you, hit me up PM and we'll troubleshoot. Note that this fix is not applicable to all platforms.

I've discovered that if I hit the "next" button on the browser then immediately hit the back button, I skip over the hour long ads.

Appreciate the offer, might still take you up on it one day....
