Call it a double standard if you want but when it comes to settling down and marriage men and women place varying levels of importance on many different things. For example, women prefer high income and men prefer women who haven’t slept around as much as possible when given options. And tendencies are women will marry across and up social/economic status but not nearly as often down the status ladder, whereas men will marry across and down social/economic status.

This is exactly why women hitting their 30s without partners are experiencing issues finding men and settling down. The good ones they want are taken and the ones available are lower income and status. But it’s not the women’s fault only. Men similarly have found themselves by this time, when not yet taken, often incapable of a real relationship and lack the ability, skills, or motivation to bridge the gap needed to be more desirable to women and offer something of value to them.

And of course factoring in kids, men without kids are much less likely than women without kids to choose a partner with kids, further complicating things for many women as they age. So then we get research that shows a minority percentage of women think single moms are bad for children and society. They are just trying to wish that into existence though given everything says and always will that two parent families and kids are much better off.

I dont see that. I see people just stating truths, as awkward and uncomfortable and different as they may be. Times have changed. Women have changed. You can see it all through culture, it radiates through their music.

Dating apps, popular culture, lifestyles etc have changed the game. The % of women who are willing to have casual affairs vs those who just looking for stability and love have swayed.

Couple that with the increase in, ahem, alternative sexualities in men, and today's young people being less likely to socialize in person, has changed the game.
