So much whining over the most underpaid tight end in history counting 20 million against the cap. There are 3 players on this team that I would be absolutely fine with them chewing up salary and underperforming because they've built up that much good will with me.

Mahomes, kelce, and Jones. These 3 bring way more than numbers to the team.

If he were ever out there building his body to be utilized as a blocker, I'd be SHOCKED.

He's always been a move TE and has always been utilized that way. I'm guessing he's always tried to work his body as far towards that side of the ledger as possible.

Then he just uses natural strength and intelligence to get his angles right and get his blocks made.

If he could've made himself an even more dangerous receiving TE -- he would've. That's always been first, 2nd and 3rd in what we ask for him. The blocking has always been a happy accident.

The issue just appeared to be a guy that expected to play his way into shape and learned the hard way that he can't do that anymore. Because we sure had a lot of folks saying "He'll turn it on when he has to..." and when he tried vs. Buffalo and Philly, there wasn't any gas left in the tank.

Playoff Kelce isn't a switch to flip anymore. He has to prepare this offseason like he's playing 20 post-season games or I don't think we're gonna be telling our kids about the Travis Kelce farewell tour. It won't be Willie Mays as a Met, but it won't be something we'll enjoy a great deal. Watching him run 3 routes and then spend the rest of the drive gasping for air on the sidelines won't be the way I want to see him go out.

Kelce is the one player that I truly believe money never factored into any of his contract decisions. He gave us some great bargains over his career.

The movie “My Dead Friend Zoe” will be showing this week in Kansas City, and a local man is one of the film’s producers.

Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

As he continues to pursue a career in the entertainment world, Kelce got his first executive producer credit on “My Dead Friend Zoe.” The film is billed as a comedy/drama and stars Natalie Morales, Sonequa Martin-Green, Ed Harris and Morgan Freeman.

This is the movie’s synopsis via IMDB.com: “Engaged in a mysterious relationship with her dead best friend from the Army, a female Afghanistan veteran comes head to head with her Vietnam vet grandfather at the family’s ancestral lake house.”

At the movie’s premier Monday in Los Angeles, fellow producer Paul Scanlan was asked by People magazine if Kelce has a future in Hollywood.

“Even just seeing what a difference it’s made having him involved in our project, I would say yeah,” Scanlan said. “He’s such a likable guy and he’s a good actor. I mean, he’s proven that he’s been in some good material. And he’s a good producer.”

100%

He was noticeably slower and less agile last year and a large part of that was simply because he was fat.

I’m sure it also fatigued him early in games and made him less effective as the game went on.

Frankly, I thought his weight and conditioning was just as big a factor in his decline last year as his age.

It’s why I’m optimistic that if he shows up to camp in shape this year that he can squeeze one more really good year out of his body.

I’m hoping that if he knows for sure that this is going to be his last year that he’ll be able to lock in and fully commit himself, fitness and nutrition wise, for 11 more months.

11 more months of grinding it out and working himself into peak condition and then he has the rest of his life to trot the globe and party and let himself go.

Just lock in for one more year and then you’re done and never have to do it again.

Agree.

If this is it, go out with a bang. Don’t show up with a guy again.

Agreed. He deserves it so no big deal.

I'm sure Chiefs will give him a reduced role and let him mentor Grey.

Hopefully Kelce goes out with a better performance than what happened in the last Super Bowl.

Grey doesn't need any mentoring. He is what he is.

If they think anything of Jared Wiley, he's the one that needs the mentoring.
