One of my favorite announcers in the game.

His diction is crisp and intelligent. His voice is perfect for football. He doesn't spend time in needless speculation. He should be the #1 guy with Romo. He just has "it."

Probably the closest announcer that NFL football has to the English soccer maestros.

He's a KU grad, and before the Chiefs he did Mizzou Football. He got to work with Grigsby and Dawson for years calling games. Great guy and one of the very best announcers.

Wow, that was a great watch! It's awesome that his daughter is doing this with him, and that bit when he threw down to her on their first broadcast together...man, how cool would that be?

Yeah, she's gorgeous too.

Kevin Harlan is the best bar none IMO. Nantz is great too, but Harlan is the most entertaining.

Growing up just outside of KC, the voices of Harlan for football, Matthews for Baseball, and Max Faulkenstien for KU Basketball is how i fell in love and associate with my teams.

He is an icon here.

Oh man, I'd venture to guess that 80% of this board cut their teeth on Harlan. We're mostly men of a certain age 'round here.

My very first memories of the Chiefs are Harlan on the call.

He was the voice of the Deberg/Okoye years. I know the family watched games prior to that, but I have no memory of it. But I remember the Nigerian Nightmare calls and "Oh baby, what a play!"

Harlan was an institution. I know Mitch is an icon here but he can't hold a candle to Harlan.

There's a reason we lost one but not the other...
