A few Chiefs career milestones

Before Game 1, Priest Holmes was ranked 44th on the all-time career rushing list. He could move up as high as 19th this year, passing Terry Allen, who is currently in 19th place. (Earl Campbell, in 18th, has 9,407 yards, so there's a big gap there.)

T Allen 8614
J Taylor 8597
J Perry 8378

C Warner 6844
R Smith 6818
J Johnson 6803
W Montgomery 6789
C Muncie 6702
*P Holmes 6692

Prior to Week 1, Priest was ranked 23rd in career rushing TDs. He needs 18 TDs to break into the top 10 all time, and a repeat of last year's record-setting performance would vault him up to 8th.

Prior to Week 1, Johnny Morton had 548 receptions, and needed 16 receptions to move past Webster Slaughter into the top 50 in all-time receptions. Rob Moore is ranked 29th. A 50-catch season would put him at about 34th, depending on how other active WRs do.

Tony Gonzalez stood at 468 receptions prior to Week 1, and would need 95 receptions to have a chance to move into the top 50 of all time.

Johnny Morton had 7,636 receiving yards prior to the season, and needed 525 yards to move past Eric Martin into 50th place all-time. A 1,000 yard season would move him to about 43rd place.

H Moore 62
S Sharpe 62
*A Freeman 61

Priest Holmes had 9,253 yards from scrimmage prior to the season. He needs 902 to pass Joe Perry and move into 50th place all time, assuming that Jimmy Smith and Marvin Harrison also move past Perry (currently at 48th). 2,300 combined yards could move Priest as high as 34th place all time. Don Maynard is currently in 32nd place.

Will Shields and Willie Roaf continue toward the all-time record for Pro Bowl appearances (14), held by Merlin Olsen and Bruce Matthews. I can't find their rankings with 9 current appearances, though.

Thanks for the stats info!

I thought I read somewhere that Priest needed about 150 to pass Okoye as the Chief's all time leading rusher.

He passed him in the middle of last season. IMO if Priest can get over 9000 yards, he is encroaching upon HOF territory. He would get additional help by his TD totals. If he can be helped by the Chiefs making a SB run then he may become a lock. While those without a SB ring in the HOF are rare, we saw quite a few in the last class. The Oilers may have quite a few HOFers from their teams in the 90s and they did not get a ring. Munchak is already in and I expect Bruce Matthews and Warren Moon to get in as well.

Some interesting stats.
What I'd like to know, though, is there any team in the NFL that has a career rushing leader with as few yards as Okoye does for the Chiefs?

Seems a bit unfair to compare him to WRs seems like he should be compared to other TEs.

Fun stats. I am more impressed with sum of Morton's career than I would have guessed.

Yeah, we should do that. It took more work, though, so I didn't do it.

I could well be missing somebody, but here's my best guess of career leaders by team, counting only the yards they gained for that team. We don't stack up very well.
