Anybody know about Sony LCD projection tvs?

I have a sony lcd projection tv and bought it 90 days ago and the thing crapped out on me. I have contacted sony and nebraska furniture mart and basicaly am being told that a service man might be here by friday and he might be able to fix it and if he cant then i will have to wait a couple of more weeks till they can FED EX!!!! a new tv to me. I have complained and moaned and nothing is happening any faster. Any tips???? The tv is 63" wide and is fragile is the only reason the fed ex thing irritates me.

What is the model number? Describe what's going on with it. No power at all? Sound with no video? Etc. I might be able to help you.

It may just be the bulb. From what i have read the filament is really delicate and can break if the tv is touched hard enough when turning it off (or something to that effect).

You may want to check out the AVSForum. They have all kinds of info on Sony LCD RPTV's over there.

I wouldnt be too worried about FedEx if it comes to that. They are not going to treat it any diferent that how the store get theirs.

If you did not buy a plan on it..then you have to deal with the manufactures warranty and how they take longer... And you are passed your thirty day return policy so there is nothing really NFM can do... Stores just sell the product the manufacture is the one responsible for the repairs...

A 63" LCD and you didn't get the service plan? Normally I'd say those plans are crap, but when it comes to high dollar TVs, it's a necessary evil. It's like buying a Porsche and not getting insurance.

I definitly agree. Nice HDTV's and laptops are about the only thing those service plans are great for.
