Did that 1st-day draft really happen?
Not only did the Chiefs pick people we've all heard of, but they picked 2 guys that most of us WANTED.

Not trying to be a smartass this time...I realy have to give you props for suggesting the Chiefs were going after Davis until Carolina grabbed him. That truly was prophetic.

Back to your post: Simply amazing. Our second round pick is a 3 time pro-bowler. Our first round pick will be there and could be rookie of the year. And our scouts have like 6 picks yet today to do some serious damage with. Gotta think they will find diamonds in the rough out of that many chances.

I hate draft day.
AD and the boy's always seem to make "good on paper" picks which turn out to be flamers.
Yeah, we did nab Ray Guy way back when, but too many Billy Jo Hobart, Todd Maravich (sp), Scott Dresbach picks make me just wanna forget the draft.
Besides, getting a draft pick is one thing, having them actually sign a contract is another.

Yeah, I was firmly convinced that there was just no way we could get DJ, and I absolutely was against trading any more picks even if it meant not getting him.

I just still can't believe it.

Plus the Broncos blew their draft!

I have always been a proponent of drafting the best player available which IMO Detroit did. However, after drafting WR the past two seasons plus all the FA WR acquisitions during that time it just didn't make any sense for them to take Williams.

The Clarrett Jug Head pick was classic..Not only was he a 6th to undrafted FA type of pick but until Marion Barber and C.Fason were off the board there is no way anybody touches Clarret Jug Head....Then to throw in the fact it wasn't even a need position for them is off the charts.
