Thanks, JOhn. It's not so much the garage, but the thought that I'll be able to wash my black car and actually be able to park it in a place where it will stay clean for more than five minutes - without getting rained on or shat upon by various birds.
And the wedding is a good thing. Despite my obnoxious comments, the BNC and I are very happy. Besides, there would be no new house without her (and her parents, AKA the downpayment finance committee). Recent exchange: BNC: Do you still love me? Me: Sure. You come with a house. I got hit really, really hard after that. Must learn to stop saying things Al Bundy would say.... :D |

Frazod,
where is this magical place where birds avoid a clean car and rain clouds don't appear? :D In my neighborhood birds bombards my car like Storm'n Norman in turban-land and rain is every other day! And this is central Mo! Lately it feels like Florida...

I agree with Otter. Someone has obviously kidnapped Frazod and taken over the controls. :p
Glad the move went smooth. I'm a small-town boy and I can't see how anyone can be happy living in a city. But hey, viva la difference. :D

Congratulations Frazod!
Im about to move to a "burb" myself. Of coarse in NW Arkansas, it is all one big burb. I locked in on my rate yesterday and should close on my house around June 18-June30th. I am also excited about the "garage" thing. School's out for summer!!!:D

Tim, Congrats on your new digs. I've lived in Omaha and KC for most of my life and then I came out to Western Ne. I love the wide open spaces and the out doorsey type life. I can't imagine for the life of me wanting to move back to a city with more than 20.000 people. You can leave your doors unlocked here and not even worry about it I can walk anywhere in town and not be afraid. (Course I carry a gun as part of my job but that's beside the point) I can only imagine your frustration with Chicago. That and people who don't give a shit or have any respect for anyone or anything. Nope I'll take the frontier life so to speak. I love it here and I hope you feel the same about Naperville. :D

I hear you 'zod!!
I love our new house. It's so nice for me to be able to put my piece of sheit car in the garage next to my fiance's shiny, sparkly Cherokee. Now, still walking over unpacked boxes after 6 weeks kind of sucks, but I can deal with it... |

Thanks for the good wishes, everybody.
We're pretty much settled in - lots of insignificant crap to still do, but the main stuff is dealt with. I blew off cleaning the old place so I could relax today. I've been so sleep deprived and stressed lately that I was acting like a zombified moron - was forgetting everything, left my credit card at a restaurant (got it back today, thank God) and actually turned into an oncoming traffic lane making a left turn  After that, I decided I needed a day off for pure relaxation - seems like I haven't been able to do that for weeks. Feel much better now. It was also nice to spend one complete day out of the city. Maybe I won't hate it so much now that I only work there and have a place I love to come home to. Anyway, I'm outta here - part of the bargain is getting up earlier to catch the suburban train. Talk to you guys later. |
