The best Ipod huh? I would say Apple, seeing how they are the only ones who make the name Ipod.
I think you mean who makes the best mp3 player. I have a 20 Gb. Ipod and I love it. I wish I go the 40 GB one though.

I would say Apple's I-Pod is the way to go. Be sure and buy the I-trip, as well. That's what makes your tunes mobil.

I really have no idea what I am looking for. I was hpoing to get some info from this thread. The tunes definately need to be mobil. Also, I dont have an apple computer. Does that matter?
The player would be for listening to music while working out mostly. But I would want probably a higher end unit. One that does pretty much everything. Any suggestions? |

get a 60gb video ipod, the new one, you can also buy a tape converter like the old cardiscmans where you plug into the top of the ipod and put a tape into the deck in your car. much better than the itrip, uses batteries, single and quality is not as good, and the itrip is more expensive. PM me if you want some links of good places to buy. If you dont want to drop all the cash at once Circuit City rewards card has 2 years no intrest on any $300 or more purchase.

Consider the battery...
I had an IPOD mini that I listened to constantly. After a mere 5 months the batter was losing its charge and the IPOD was unusable. When I sent my IPOD in for a battery replacement, they informed me that they could not replace the battery without replacing the entire casing. And since the casing and a dent on the corner, they told me it would cost me $230. This is because 1)They are assholes, and 2) they don't replace the battery, but instead give you a different refurbished IPOD. This is because the IPOD's battery is tightly integrated into the IPOD itself. If you try to do it yourself, you will most likely damage your IPOD.
My advice would be to get a Creative Labs Zen Micro. These have replaceable batteries that can be snapped in and out. That way you don't have to worry about getting screwed by Apple. Mine is on its way. |
