Ko Simpson is the future?

I'm not sure if any one else knows this player, but he's an amazing talent at safety, playing at a fairly obscure program.

He's a sophomore, but he's eligible for the draft if he declares....

Always loved his game -- he's a 1st team-All-American -- and would love to replace Sammy Knight with him....

This draft site (link below) is reporting he's considering coming out -- hope the Chiefs can bring him in

As a loyal fan of South Carolina, I have watched this kid play every game. He is a gamer. He makes a hell of a break on the ball, often getting INTs or tipping passes for INTs (3/4 of SC's INTs this season have been plays where Ko has tipped the ball). He also does not bounce off those he tackles, despite playing safety with cornerback speed and size. I don't think KC could do wrong to pick him up.

SCC, hopefully he comes out this season, or else I doubt we have a chance when he's a junior -- he'll be a top 15 pick.

The site does a good job breaking news....They even have a info on scouts claiming Brad Smith of Mizzou could be playing free safety in the NFL?

I actually love watching Brad play QB, but I agree he's not an NFL QB

At some point Peterson has to get this right

Maybe Simpson is that player.....that's Ko Simpson.....

Not Jason Simpson of Mizzu, but he's a tough player too

Hell, we need a DT bad. I said we should look at DT's due to the depth of that position this year. I had numerous people say we can't draft a DT because we failed at it before. I seriously don't understand that logic at all.

Great points.....the site I linked above, I like because they DONT pretend to be scouts -- breaking down players stances, ect....they report news, mostly.

They say Ngata of Oregon will come out early (he said this over the summer).....I'd love to get him, but he's probably a top 15 pick

So maybe if I Rod Wright or Dusty Dovarcek or Claude Wroten is there, we swing that way?

Honestly, I sort of agree with you -- safety in round 1 is iffy, but Ko is real good.

My stance is, playmaker with the first pick. You should take a player who can come in a play right away and make an impact.

If Simpsons that guy, I got no problem with that. He's easily more talented than any of the safeties we currently have.

Knight and Wesley are locked up at least 2 more years.

Drafting a safety in the first round is a huge pipedream.

However, i'd like it because it doesn't hurt to have a safety named KO.

The best safety bar none this year is Dwayne Slay of Texas Tech. That dude destroys people. Who ever drafts him will have a Pro Bowl bound rookie.

I don't think Wesley will ever start for a good defense. He just makes to many mistakes back there and it leads to big plays.

Defensive tackles are as hard to project as QB's are. You just never know how they are going to turn out. Their one of the biggest crap shoots in the draft.

It's because generally a DT can't be lazy. If the guy takes 1 play off it can result in a 50 yard run.
