We got near snowblind conditions here. And a car just slid off into the ditch in front of our office.

At first, they said we would get 1-3 inches of snow here. Then, it was supposed to be 6-8 inches with blizzard-like conditions for the first few hours. Lastly, it ended up being "a flake or two". I don't know if we got either flake this morning. It's damn cold, but no snow. Knock on wood.

I don't think winter has ever affected me as much as this year... I've never believed in the whole lack of sunshine can cause depression thing, but I'm really starting to change my mind.... I need to get out of the cave so badly right now it's killing me...
And the day after the snow finally melts off the driveway.... I wake up to more white shit... ARRRGHH...

Its basically a white out here, blowin' like crazy. I dont mind it too much, was always of the mind that this is how winters supposed to be, it bothers me when its 50 in January or Febuary.
Going out in it has an adventurous appeal to me, reminds me of Alaska where tons of non-stop snow is the norm. One thing they do up there that is so much smarter is put small pebbles down on roads instead of salt, salt melts it for awhile & then it freezes right back up, whereas with pebbles, you get a permanent knobby surface that really improves traction & doesnt rot your ride. I say let it snow, its the ice storms that kill the power that i hate, this is actually kinda fun. Having said that, i prefer warmer weather. |
